Well I actually got back Sunday afternoon, at 4 pm. Went to both games against the buds, and I have to say without a doubt one the best experiences of all time. Two win both games was beyond belief but to win them so convincingly, unbelievable. Although It was hard making into work this morning, it was well worth it as the smile on my face was permanent.
The Saturday night game was extra special, as my dad and I got to sit in the good seats (sec 117) while the rest of my group were up in the 300's. We sat right near where CBC does it pregame show. Maclean and Cherry were no more than 10 feet away. My father had the chance to talk to Maclean, and mentioned while he was stationed in Whitehorse he had worked with Ron's dad. They shook hands and exchanged plesanteries (sp?) But wait, it gets better, after they did the pregame show, Maclean came over to our seats and talked to my dad for a little bit longer. Which I thought was amazing, the guy had fans all over him and he took the time to come over and further their conversation, and even remembered my dads name, which is no easy task especially when hes getting mauled by fans, but still remembered my fathers name. Then the game started and the atmosphere was amazing . Then final score was unbelievable and I can't wait to go back again.
Highligths of the trip, the atmosphere at both Cages au Sport where we went for dinner before both games. Met some great people from Sweden and two amazing older gentleman from London, Ontario. Because all of us had Jerserys on, alot of people would come up to us ask to have a picture with us. Kinda felt like a star. Met Ponikarsky at the Casino and also won $300 there, but i didn't last to long. Way too many shooters. The ballets were great as usual ( Barry they were asking for you) just kidding. The weather was fantastic, patios were open and the buzz in the air all weekend was great.
Special thanks to Mario, for telling me about sports store on St.Laurent, lots of great stuff and the guy gave us a little deal, I feel bad that I forgot his name. So Mario, if you could tell him thanks and was a pleasure to meet him. Mario also I'm sorry I didn't get your personal e-mail but was no where near a computer, and it would of been hard to meet at the cages with it being so busy. but next year for sure. Thanks again Mario, cheers.
