Listen you typical fans who think since one guy is good so the other has to be bad. Ok Abby played average tonight, made some nice saves, he had NO D, Habs weren't playing the Red Wings they were playing the worst team in the NHL. Damn stop pissing on Abby, how many odd man rushes did the penguins have, there was no D at all..... The same habs don't show up with Aebischer in nets than when Huet is in nets...... Anyways you guys should be happy we got the 2pts and now wow the "number 1" goalie is playing the bigger team on Tuesday. And don't you know that Abby knows he's not going to be in Montreal next year, look at his helmet, damn Montreal ruined his career and I don't get Gainey if we didn't need another goalie wow then get someone like Lapperiere, Tanguay, Brunette, Liles ............. I hate Gainey

Come on now, "look at his helmet"...it takes about 3 hours work and 12 hours drying to paint a mask, I'd hardly call that a career commitment. I've thought Abby was a lousy goalie since I first saw him backing up Roy in Colorado and a close up look at him (15 goals in 3 games) doesn't do anything to change my opinion. Yes he may improve to be a good backup, but he's not an elite starter and the Habs can't afford to be helping him find his game right now. As for you hating Gainey, well, he's never spoken ill of you.
Abby just creates more work for himself. It's not so much that the Habs D is brutal... It's more about positioning and rebound control. Abby doesn't have either, making it very difficult to achieve moderate success in the NHL.

This was a salery dump. No way would your avalanche give up the players you mentioned. They gave up Abby because they wouldn't of resigned him either.
i for one find the habs to play better and with more confidence when huet is in goal...i mean abi reminded me of are late theo not controling nothing...n e ways for now abi is on my bad side and as for the D lets not forget the two last physical games the habs just went threw..

Our D was missing greatly, that's all because of Bouillon, the most stable guy who also is the fastest defenseman we have. Well I'm happy Abby got his game in and now big Huet has got us the win on Tuesday but I've always liked Aebischer, he shows so much heart and emotion in nets. (maybe not with the habs yet)

I agree that the 15 goals against Abby in 3 games are not solely his fault BUT his bad positioning and lack of quickness stick out like a sore thumb. Is it confidence? Not sure, but it is concerning. He's no Huet, at least form what I've seen so far.
These arguments are all irrelevant at this point. Abby will not start another game this season unless Huet gets hurt and he won't be back next season. Unless Huet decides to stay, the Habs are going to be shoppingfor a tender in the off-season.

The Habs D has been proous all year, and last night vs. the Pens was no exception. That having been said, Abby is not on his angles, has trouble with balance, gives up rebounds too reaily, and often has trouble hadling the puck. I'd like nothing more than for him to be a stud, but the fact is he isn't one. My brother-in-law, who lives in Denver and watched almost every Avs game, was shocked that the Habs would want him becaue of his season-long inconsistency. Glad he got the win because that's all we needed out of him last night, but I wouldn't feel comfortable with him in net against a really good team and I doubt the players would either.
