After another one-sided performance by the Canadiens downing the Laffs 6-2, I couldn't help but notice the bias in tonight's broadcast. Pitiful I tell you. A NATIONAL broadcaster referring to players on the Canadiens as "the Montreal player".
Calling Downey Kovalev because #47 and #27 look the same.
I had to swtich over to RDS. I couldn't take it anymore. But if there are more I missed, I wouldn't mind a laugh!
You missed much more if you switched early enough. You missed Bobby saying wow, Gainey must be pleased how this line worked out he just through them together, Aaron Downey, Radek Bonk, and Andrei Markov. HE also called Garth Murray, Claude Murray.
It's not even that Cole is a brutal Toronto homer, they guy's memory just sucks. He even gets Toronto payers names wrong! Good luck getting Bob to say ANY goalies name right the last 10 years. Like I said in another post, I was spoiled growing up listening to Danny Galivan...schmucks like Cole are not worthy to shine Danny boys boots. After 20 years of these clowns (Cole & Neale or Neale and Bob), the best hockey I've watched on TV in decades is a couple of years ago when the French channel broadcast the games with no play by blay a few years ago during the strike! Seriously, the sounds of the game were great! No stupid screw ups by Bob Cole to listen to...I was in hockey fan heaven
I've heard Bob Cole or Harry Neale (Not sure which) once say, "Kabrale with a hard drive and a stop by Tellqvist" so i agree. And i remember that strike for SRC that was great, you could really here the roar of the crowd and you still got to here the scoring plays and the penelties because the crowd level was so high.
Bob Cole was embarrassing to listen to. I was at a friends house (he's a leafs fan) and even he thought Cole was bad, though he didn't see any bias towards the Laffs, typical Leaf fan blinders.....I had a great time singing Na na hey hey for the last 5 mins of the game..............loved it!!!
At one point in the game , Cole had Rivet falling down and then getting back up when in actual fact, Rivet never went down to start with.............I agree Bob shud stick to figure skating or pack it in................and do us all a favor and take Healy with him....
bob cole is a newfie and i can't bring myself to bash him, so thanks to all who did it for me! with the habs winning, i didn't really pay any attention to the announcers and i loved the third period.

It has nothing to do with him being a Newfie. His skills have deteriorated woefully these past few years. Jim Hughson is an excellent broadcaster and why doesn't he become Number 1?
Another great part of habfans. It is less painful and easier to watch RDS trying to undertsand what they are saying than to suffer through listenin to the idiots on TSN or CBC. After 5 years of watching them on RDS, hockey just isnt hockey without ET LE BUT!!!!
Classic moment was at La Cage Aux Sports a chain of Montreal Canadiens sports bars in Quebec. We went to watch the habs leafs game back in november and everyone booed the CBC game off until they put it on RDS. ITs not a french english thing, its strictly a bias thing. Even the english people there we're booing along. CBC is now the Canadian Biased Coperation.

Pure proof of that is Jacques Demers comments the other night on OTR. Jacques BLUNTLY stated he believes the habs will NOT make the playoffs. This coming from a french canadian who coached the team and loves the habs. Pro!

But you know Jacques Demers feels pretty good about himself for being the last coach to win the cup for the Habs.
I don't totally trust Demers' analysis, because it often seems like he doesn't wish the team well, as if there's some part of him that likes the status quo of him being the big man who last won it and who knows all.

I'm very happy for Jacques.
I don't really mind the guy, but he seems to be relishing the limelight ever since his "story" came out - his alleged illiteracy and the abuse at the hands of his father (not to belittle either of these!). I see him a lot on TV these days, and I'm sure it's good for book sales.
I did like him as a coach, however, although the fact he won that Cup may be clouding my judgement. He, Michel Therrien and Pat Burns were all fire and passion. Vignault and Julien (and Gainey) were/are calm and composed. Somewhere in between is likely the right approach.
