You get used to it. I have watched plenty of games in French and I don't understand it. Actually the best was when RDS or SRC was on strike , they viewed the games with no commentators, you really pick up alot of the sounds on the ice and the players talking sometimes.

im pretty sure soon with technology we will be able to take of the commentors sound....heheh would be great to actually here the players swear or scream and hear the bones crush!! lol i watch it in french...do i have an other choice...but i like more english channels cause the sound is more focused on the ice...you actually hear the skates and all

I watch all games on RDS and understand very little french (I can order beer and lottery tickes when visiting relatives in Montreal).I actually enjoy listening to the announcers even though i don't really understand. That said,I would pay gladly to just hear the sounds of the game, with no announcers. If that technology exists, count me in......

I love watching hockey in French. The announcers are usually good in Montreal.

The only area where English definitely beats French is when someone scores:
"He shoots! He SCORES!" is catchier for me than "et c'est le BUt!" or "et le bUT!"
which is still pretty good!

There's always "Il lance et compte!".   But I prefer "Et le buuuuuuuuuuuut!".

I know that Leaf fans around here hate to hear "Et Le But" & U2's "Vertigo" but it's music to my ears

It'll be a big win tonight, let's put a nail in the Leafs proverbial coffin.

It's a tough one for me...I've come to hate U2, but I love Habs goals...I'm so tormented

I spent the first 21 years of my life in Dorval (Montreal suburb), while I never really learned any French, I can get by on the French channell ok...a few beer helps, guess that means the French is there, just burried

Although I've got to tell you...after hearing Vertigo 10 times in the last 5 periods I'm warming back up to U2
