why the inconsistency
Permalink Closed

this team has shown us on many occasions that they can be a top 4 teams in the conference

beginning the season 13-3 then becoming one of the hottest team after the olympics, this team can turn it on when they want

i know it is hard to play with the intensity this team had last nite evry game

my question why have the highs been sohigh and the lows been so low,if this team just found an medium the habs easily would be a 6 place team with no worries of missing the playoffs

skovy, inconsistency is the hallmark of a mediocre team.  Not saying the Habs are mediocre, but they certainly aren't worthy of a top 4 in the conference.

with more consistency and not falling asleep against teams like pitt, wash, islanders

this team should 85-88 points right up there with the rangers and flyers

I think you can say that inconsistency is synonymous with inexperience in hockey. Its a young team... which is why I can't wait to be a fan of this team over the next few years.

this is true

but the inconsistency has come from the veterans

this team lost to pitt 3 times and wash twice

10 points that are very crucial at this point of the season

Every team has a bunch of games they wish they could have back.  Those 10 points are long gone - we just gotta focus on one game at a time.  To quote What About Bob?, "Baby Steps".

Great point. Young team making some young mistakes. But older players making some mistakes trying to compensate for the inexperience of others and sometimes trying too hard. but it certainly has been a rollercoaster.

Trust me, if it wasn't for our young guys, we would be totally out of a playoff hunt. Higgins 14/Plecs8/Perez9. Where would we be without these 31 goals? If not for these guys bringing it every game, we're toast.

not that those 31 goals aren't big goals for a team with a struggling offence but you gotta remember that those three players cost us a lot of goals at times this year by making rookie mistakes

I think it is appropriate to say they are mediocre.  There isn't a top 20 scorer on the team.  They have been riding Huet's hot hand for quite some time now.  I'm okay with mediocre, providing there are signs of improving (ie - Higgins, Perzhogin, Bulis, etc.)

I don't think you mean that, Heeter  If they were dead last or in 12th or something like that I would say they are mediocre.  The fact is they were predicted to finish anywhere from 8th to 12th, the latter in most hockey publications that I read.  They are right where they should be and they have a chance to finish as high as 6th if they could get any consistency in their play.

Never admit mediocrity...the leafs, now THEY are mediocre.
