I can't stand the "Ole, Ole" chant at the Habs game. It has no business a) being sang in North America b) being sang at a hockey game. It just sounds so out of place. I went to the Habs-Rangers game and they had the sheer balls to sing it in the first period (and subsequently went on to lose the game)? They gotta give that sh*t up - they're not european, no matter how much they consider themselves so.

I liked that song.
Just listening to it brings back a flood of memories. Thanks, Jonny.

I never fully understood the point of that one, other than people having fun singing a harmless ditty, if that's what it is.
The fact that they usually sing it late in the games (I think) seems to indicate it has the same meaning as the old "Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye" song. i.e. the Habs have won.
Am I close?

oh no, i was hoping no game thread would be made until after the first peroid. it seemed to work well last game haha for some reason this tidbit of useless information stuck out on the article on tsn.ca Downey, whose family owns a farm in Shelburne, Ont., brought in 10-pound bags of potatoes for his teammates on Friday. seems like Downey is a real team player
Loading up on carbs before a game is likely a good thing. Usually it's pasta, though..........
