The best thing about “gohabs.com”…

Persona’s like Cleghorn, Barry33, Nil’d, Mulsy, John-boy, Normie, Habgirl, Forum Fan, AB, Brooky, Reddog, MacNeil, Johab (just to name only a few for example) exist nowhere else!


 


They all perpetuate this great forum of “Habdom”! 


 


In fact, And-o believes that this forum…in virtually every sense of the word…is “Habdom”.  Where else would anyone encounter such wild and wacky cast of characters who care sooooo much about the Habs???  Just think about it for a minute folks!  What else does a 30-something Acadian guy have in common with a beer hoarding retiree from BC who spends more time golfing than sleeping?  How else would a Brooklyn NY resident (with wayyyy too much time on his hands) ever match wits with a slightly brain-damaged guy who thinks he is Kirk Muller from 1993?      


 


This “place” has it’s own language, phrases, culture, structure and identity! 


 


Ever notice how very single poster (new and/or old) takes on an image in their minds-eye??? 


 


Hab fans are knowledgeable, feisty, communal, pig-headed, proud, creative, provocative, critical, analytical and always interesting!

radek bonk ,lol, i agree with you there and-o , this is a good place to vent-discuss-disagree,and chat about the most storied franchise in the nhl.
by the way im going on record now that we will loose tonight thanks to the refs . and im guessing we get at least 8 pen. and maybe 4 pp . also am calling for a chat after the game if anyone is interested.

It is BY FAR the best Habs forum out there.  I've looked at a few others but always come back here.  The new folks are great - they add yet another dimension to the board!  The folks that have been here forever are kinda like friends to me (no, not getting mushy).  No matter what's going on in my life I can count on a laugh or getting riled (thanks And-O).   


Whether I agree or disagree, it's always a kind of camraderie!  And it's kind of cool knowing people from all over this (and other) great country...no matter where I may visit chances are I'll "know" someone there!

I have seen other Habs forums and other Habs boards but none compare. I only post here cause this is the home of the GOHABS!

I've been visiting this site for years but only started posting a short time ago. I think it would be fun to arrange a get together sometime in montreal so we could all meet. maybe a saturday afternoon before a game next year, then tickets to a game, as a group. anybody interested?

Maybe it's just me but I generally find humour in most "quirps". I caught myself laughing out loud at And-o's traditional "helmet" remarks about me. I laughed even louder at the thought of a french accented "comic book guy" with pointed ears. The image cracks me up...especially picturing And-o behind the computer looking like that image...


Maybe I am more light hearted than others. That is not to say that I don't think And-o and AB are...hmmm....biased for unknown reasons against Koivu( I think I know...but whatever). In any case, it's all in good spirit I think. It will all be over in two years when Koivu hoists the cup and passes it to...oh lets say...Lecavlier( Gainey's off season "go to" center)


Now....where did I put that helmet....

Totally agree. Posters here each have a certain schtick they bring. They're all different, and they usually have something to say.

If anyone's ever checked out any of the other forums, it's just loads of anonymous ranting and other junk. Boring in two seconds.

So I'm sympathetic to Brooklynhabsfan's quality control stuff, even if it isn't always very nice. Hey, the guy's protective of the quality. He should be.

I must admit though, im still holding a small grudge against you for the "Johab is Wheels of Degrassi " comment from the old board when we all shared our views of who we think all the other posters are in real life. I, along with many others agree that i am MUCH better looking than wheels!

i think everyone is right  about this forum    probably the most interesting group of people all with different oppinions and ways to go about everything  all thrown in to one place.   kinda like that crazy dysfuntional family that everyone knows and loves  we have our arguements and disagreements    but no one hates anyone here   everyone has gotten along (at some point or another)   and although i don't post as much as some people here  i like to consider myself part of this dysfuntional  family    and im proud if it   like the quiet kid who sits on the sidelines obsorbing every little bit of the family interactions  


 ...  oh yea   by the way  im back   i will post pics of my daughter for anyone interested....   once i stop procrastinating and get on to photobucket...

What I like most about Go Habs.com is the fact that I can come on here at 2 am, after having downed half a bottle of "The Captain", and my ramblings look normal..for this place at least

Couldn't agree more And-o and you're such a character I have to believe you have roots in Belleville ON - forget "Hockeytown" that's "Wise-asstown" - Dennis Hull "None of us Hull's could fight, well, except Maureen (sister and nurse who I personally experienced - she would slap your butt hard before giving you your shot in the thigh)"  Marc Crawford when spotted wearing a $1500 suit with WHITE socks before his first coaching gig "Well, you can take the boy out of Belleville but..." and Hamilton sportscaster Ken Welch when as part of newscast repartee was told by the Anchor that he had just watched Dick Beddoes do a live report from in front of MLG on a cold Saturday night  "... and his teeth were chattering!" Welch, without missing a beat, "Were they out or in?"

.......was just passin by and my puter yelled out "get over here, Ando's talkin about ya".  Yer right again BIG A, this is a good place ta be, especially with it's unique lineup.  Not much goin on out west here, the weathers great, my BOSOX are in first place and the football season is just around the corner, August 14th, is the first Monday Night Football so off to the watering hole I'll have to go.........well til next time.........."fairways & greens all"........cheers.....normie

I remember that post.  The old days on the old board.  What times!!!!  There wasn't many of us and it was easier to keep track of posts.  But times move on and we have a great group of Hab fans here.
