I wish Bob Gainey would put our former big line together of Koivu, Kovalev and Zednik. Then go with Ribeiro, Ryder and Higgins. That way we have at least one line that is a bit scary. Put Plekanec with Begin and Bulis and then Bonk with whoever. We need to shake up the lines somehow, and I'd say go back to the big line that gave us success in the playoffs before, and earlier this year. It's worth a try, because not much is working now.
The thing is guys, Gainey and co have been juggling lines all season to no avail. I think the boys need to show up with more effort. Someone just needs to hammer someone or score a big goal. Take the bull by the horn and steer this team to a much needed victory.

A line combination I would like to see would be elevating Begin to the top line alongside Koviu and Kovalev. Begin can play the wing and would bring a lot of energy and a physical presence to the line. The Canadiens are lacking a power forward and although Begin does not fill that role he can do the heavily lifting in the corners and open up some space for Koviu. Perhaps his energy would rub off a little on Kovalev as well. Begin is one of the few forwards that will drive to the net and it could enable some offensive creativity to happen between Koviu and Kovalev.
When Gainey attempts to revamp this team in the offseason, hopefully he can acquire a forward who shoots right. Every forward the Habs have with the exception of Ryder shoots left and it can inhibit some passsing options when you have at least one of the wingers constantly taking passes off the backhand.

Right-Shooting forward? You have no idea how long I have been harping about that! I actually think we need 3. One Center, one Winger, and One D. I am happy with our D, but I think we should make Dandenault the extra and bring in an elite, or at least top-2 guy. I am hoping we can grab Arnott And Dvorak this summer...

Wow, another crazy idea. How can you argue with Begin? The guy has the most heart and consistent effort of any Hab. Plus he's not a bad player.
Might work, but don't you think Begin is one of those guys who plays better when he's not given too much responsibility? He seems to wear down on the occasions he plays too much 5 on 5. I like him on the bottom 2 lines.
