We're still in this folks.  Not playing great, but have they really played "great" over any stretch of the season?  As soon as they drop a couple everyone turns and starts bitching about the leadership, Gainey, Koivu, Kovalev, etc., etc. They win one and everything is coming up roses. T-dot is still out of a spot, we have a game on ATL and we also have a bunch of home games coming up.  If we miss the play-offs, great, have at 'er.  If Toronto makes it, go ahead and string yourself up. Until then just hold on and root for the boys.  We're stuck with this lot till the end of the season, so we might as well get behind them.  Nothing is going to change and there is nothing our posts can do about it.  We all put enough blood, sweat and tears into them so we may was well enjoy this thrilling run to the end of the season, no matter how much hair falls out.  It's one thing to vent frustration and another to complain all the time.

After the initial anger of last night...I'm behind this team and I intend the roller coaster ride to continue.

Definitely makes for an exciting finish to the season! I keep hoping that the Habs will start playing the way they did against Phili a couple of weeks ago. Then I realize that they're not that talented and that a lot has to go right for the Habs to play that way.

I think you nailed it, Jonny.  This team has 3 rookies playing regularly in the line-up and I would also consider Huet and Komi rookies.  Plus we are carrying guys like Bonk, Sundstrum and Ribs who ultimately don't contribute.  They have some holes to plug in the off-season, but if we can sneak into the play-offs all the better.  For the record, I don't expect them to win their play-off series if they make it, but it would be nice to watch it.

I agree totally, we knew going into this stretch that our team was suspect at best. Let's enjoy the guys for as many games as they have left this season. The playoffs will give us 5 at the most 6 extra games with maybe embarrassibg losses to boot. The glass is half full!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone who frequents this board would like nothing more than to to see you have to change your name to "25 Rings," my friend! And this team has some players who will no doubt wear those gaudy but wonderful rings some day.

I think we all want to believe that this team has what it takes to a) make the playoffs and b) put up a good fight against the Canes, Sens or whomever. We all want to believe that our great start this season wasn't just a fluke. We all want to believe that BG is the second coming of Scotty Bowman, and that the "name" players we have -- Koivu, Kovalev, Zednik, Ryder, Souray, Markov -- are going to step up and inspire the team to start playing at a higher level. We all want to believe that there's hope - whether there really is any or not!

It's fun to watch how the posts to this board change when we win. Optimism and bravado pour out. But all too often, that optimism is drowned by a poor performance the next night. Sometimes, I think that the people who post here put more blood, sweat and tears into caring about this team than the players do. And that leads to negative comments.

I'm glad you're here to remind us why we're all Habs fans, 24. It's not an easy job nowadays, but its one we all love.

Les Canadiens sont la

I'm with you 24 rings, it ain't over til it's over.  I've only come back to this board in the last week after a 3 year abscence...but I'm just laughing at some of the doom and gloom posts after each loss folowed by the hopeful post after each win.  This board is better than a rollercaster

I couldn't argee with you more Kahuna.

With wins, you should still discuss the flaws that were seen as well as the good....  & with all losses, you should discuss the finer plays that took place along with the flaws.

It's all about balance

I'm just as guilty of bitching as the next guy (or girl) when things don't go right for us, but I figure that it's our of my control how this team does.  It's sometimes so hard not to lose your mind with this club, but what can we do?  It's up to those guys on the ice now and I guess all we can do is watch from the stands or from infront of our TV sets and hope that we pull it out.  10 of last 14 games at home - that's one positive right there.  I still think we're gonna make the play-offs.

personally : I would never go out and hang myself over a hockey game
and your exactly right ,I don't think these posts are going directly to the montreal canadians locker room for them to read.I thought it was here to listen to what habs fans had to say ,a little bit of fun, don't take it to serious "IT"S ONLY A GAME "

Exactly, so we don't need to bitch and come up with lame excuses and scapegoats everytime we lose one game.  All I am saying is that we are still in the hunt and there are 28 points left on the table, more than enough to propel us into the playoffs.

I agree that we are not going to hang ourselves over this, but come on man, being a die hard Habs fan, the Habs are a way of life.  The outcome of a game does affect my daily life.  That is only because I bleed bleu, blance eh rouge.  I don't think I would want it any other way.  When I am at work during a game, my wife phones me with score updates, total way of life.  And win or lose, I still love, second only to my family.
