You're comparing what happened to Claude & Theo to WWII? What mistakes of their's need to be analysed now? & how would it help us?

I respect that barry is good buddies with Claude Julien and I can kind of see that barry has this defacto grandfather aura-thing going on here and posters typically don't take shots at him and I can understand that. You usually have pretty insightful things to say. However, I can do without the CJ name dropping all the time. I think we all know that he's your buddy.

Its not all Koivu's fault, But He has majority of the Blame.
Oh good lord man. What are we here, the Brady bunch? These are grown men. Grown men who already have a value system in place which will dictate their work ethic.
Unfortunately this team has guys that are not followers. Guys that are hero's in their own mind...but who are really zero's( ie Ribeiro, Kovalev, Zednick). Tough to lead grown men with full blown ego's.

Oh! I knew the "Hey! Hey! Hey!", but not the "No class" part. Fat Albert was just running its course when I was old enough to watch and remember it... :) Not saying y'all are old or anything... hehehe
I totally agree John... this has been a bit of a dramatic year in montreal so all things considered the fact that they are still in a playoff race is a GOOD thing... at this point they still have a realistic shot at making the playoffs, so if the scoring comes around we are golden! I mean my god how many "proven" NHL players do have on this team? the list is short I can assure you.

Exactly my point in another thread - kind of hard to lead by example or motivate your team when you haven't got the tools in place to gel the team. I think there are too many guys in this d-room that cannot, or will not, take constructive criticism or buy into "play as a team" mentality.
Would everyone agree that Theo deserves a huge part of the blame for this season? Ok sure.... Would everyone agree that maybe Julien deserves SOME of the blame for not getting the team to function consistently, and as a unit? Ok, probably some. Would everyone agree that Kovalev has been disappointing? Ok. Would everyone agree that Koivu is not providing the play or example we hope from him, at the very least in the second half? Ok... Would everyone agree that certain players (Souray, Ribeiro, Bonk, Zednik) didn't even show up until halfway through the season? Ok.... As for Gainey, I'm sure we won't come to an agreement, because this is still contentious but it's at least POSSIBLE that he hasn't performed very well either.
So here we are. Seems POINTLESS to zero in on one catch-all problem with this team, be it coaching, the captain, etc....there are a bunch of problems that mutually reinforce one another. If we only had one problem, the positives would cancel it out.
Take Buffalo. There are a lot of weaknesses theoretically in that lineup. But a lot of good things working together cancel it out, make people overachieve, play together. Sometimes it's a kind of momentum. This group sure didn't play like that last season. Same coach. Same mediocre-looking lineup. Things have clicked this year.
Clearly we are better since Theo is no longer our goalie, so that's ONE problem solved. But we are still not very good, just better. The amazing thing is that we are still in the playoff hunt.
