maybe if we are chasing for a playoff spot instead of trying to hold on to one we may start to play better , 1 for 3 against pitt , wash , isles . is pathetic . and the lines tonight were pathetic , begin and murry were on the wrong lines tonight .

yes atlanta wins in a shootout , now montreal is no longer in the playoffs .

Atlanta comes back from a 4-2 deficit late in the third, scores with a minute to go to tie it, then wins in a shotout - on the road, no less.  That's the type of grit the Habs should be showing..........

I agree Nilsey. Atlanta scares me. We are not going to catch Tampa down the stretch so it will come down to Atlanta, Montreal, and ughhh..Tarawna. Out of those 3 teams looking for the 8th spot, I have to very unbiasedly give the nod to Atlanta. They have firepower, goaltending and a no-nonsense coach who gets every ounce out his players. And this is a team that very much wants to be in the playoffs. Montreal, to be honest, has not shown this desire and we all know it comes down to desire in the crunch. I am not going to whine anymore about Koivu. That has been beaten to death. Gainey has paid him way too much money and given him a no trade clause. Blame Gainey, not Koivu.

Andy why can't we catch Tampa??? We are 4 points behind and have a game in hand. And Tampa has John Grame in net for the year. Also we are 3 points behind Jersey and we play them twice still.

Another note Tampa and Atlanta still have to play each other three times. Someone is going to go up or down.

I think the problem is actually "winning" some of the next few games, which is starting to look like a daunting task for this lot.  They should be firing on all cylinders right now, but dropping games to sub-par teams like the Isles and the Pens @ home doesn't look very encouraging.

The anemic offense will have to change in the next two games vs. The Leafs or the Habs will be on the outside looking in no matter what any of the other teams do. Of our last 5 goals, all were scored due to the efforts of defensemen. I've said before that having three defensive forwards coaching this team is not going to help us learn how to put pucks in the net, and I've yet to see any evidence to the contrary. Poor decision making, poor discipline, and lack of skill are going to sink this team before the next week is out, I'm afraid.

I love 'em -- but I hate 'em.

Les Canadiens sont la
