You need to use the Michel Therrien wording..he is soffff...you never see a guy so sofffff..pfft. Actually IMHO, Ryder has simply forgotten what got him to the NHL and needs to get back to basics, including hard work. Sometimes these kids experience success and then feel all they need to do to score goals is show up. Ryder is NOT a great skater. He is NOT a great puck handler. He has a decent shot. He has been successful by working his butt off and getting his nose dirty. He needs to be reminded of that.

I think one thing has emerged about Ryder this season - he is a one-dimensional player. Other than pulling the trigger, I don't see too much else going on with him.

His accuracy has improved so much this season that he can hit the opposing goaltender in the crest 94% of the time!

I agree, he's one demensional but on a team that needs that demension, that could be a good thing as long as he still works hard in other areas!

Ryder is not a one-dimensional player when he's on his game. He has a lot of potential in pretty much all areas of the game, especially hitting, grinding and heart. Obviously his bread and butter is scoring, but he can do other things. I don't know why people forget how much fire he showed last year. It wasn't just goals. This is a typical sophomore slump. Relax on the guy.

I agree that he's not one-dimensional but it's seems that his other qualities are lacking because he looks so awkward out there most of the time. He skates funny...am I the only one who seems to think he skates like someone in a senior league. In any case, he has a great shot and I hope he gets 30 this year.
