Whatever happened to those two nice boys...???

...you know, the ones who just love Saku Koivu so much?!?!?!

I miss the daily updates on Saku's progress towards Sainthood!

Ahhh...remember the outpouring of posts made after Saku's last goal (the OT winner versus T.O. from January)!?

...the last I had read...these fella's were getting ready for the "real season".

How could anyone have predicted such a stretch for Saku though?  Why it almost borders on prophetic!!!

And...just think...Saku is all ours for THREE MORE YEARS!!!  I just get chills when I say it!!!

What we need Brooky...is a picture of those two "lusty & trusty" Sakuholics gazing in wonder at their patron Saint!

Andrew, you used to be such a nice boy.  Now you're just being downright malicious.  I knew you'd be pouncing all over Koivu this morning.  Yes, he's in a funk.  He's not skating at full speed.  He's missing chances to score.  He falls down a lot.  He gets bad penalties.  None of this is good.

But does a bad patch make him a bad captainAbsolutely not!  He busts his gut every night and leads by example.  He's not captain by accident.  If there was someone better-suited, wouldn't Gainey have switched it by now?  What do you know that Gainey doesn't?

Is his whole season a washout?  Absolutely not!  He's second in team scoring, right behind a man who has twice the talent but half the heart.  He's scoring at .82 PPG, above his career average of .80.  He's in a frigging slump!!!!!!!!!!  Who has not had those this year???????

Look at the "Who's not (hot)" list.  The entire team is on there.  To listen to you, Koivu is 100% of the reason the Habs are losing.  Not so.  I could name you the list, but you know who they are.

In the last year, you've heaped more praise on Mats Sundin than you have on all of the Habs combined (with the possible exception of your boy Bonkers).  I swear you're a Leaf fan!

I'm glad he's here for three more years.  You are not.  Get over it.

Yes Nil'd. Well put once again. It's not fun when the habs are losing. But what is more irritating is having "fans" pounce on guys who are hardly to blame.

Who should wear this one? Abby! The shots on goal last night was nealy 2-1 in favour of the habs. But I suppose Koivu should be blamed...that is all And-o Lives for on this board.

When the habs win the cup in 2 years with Koivu at the wheel...And-o will claim Koivu's 60 point season was terrible...ignoring all the other aspects of  Koivu's  game that are important.

Meanwhile Ribby will be in Columbas with the same 60 points...and nothing else to offer. And there will be And-o harping on how we should never have traded Ribeiro.

Bottom line is this. I sai dit many times..our bets players need to be our best players now. It has NOT happened, Kovalev included. Sorry, but I expect more out of our 5 million dollar boys than this. Funny thing but all these excuses being allowed our best players were not afforded Julien. Strange.,

Wrong Barry.

Most of the people on this board defended Julien right to the end. I'm one. I only started to change my mind when the team went on its worst stretch ever, and even then I had reservations about getting rid of Julien.

I think you should remember that the biggest critics of Julien were the exact same people who blame everything on Saku.

I agree Plouf. Barry, methinks you are wrong on this one.

I was one of the first people to bash And-o when he was picking away at CJ. I could go back in the archives and find all those posts.

I only said it might be a good move to remove CJ once it happened because something had to happen. Bottom line is this team was in a downward spiral since back in November. It's kida like trying to right a plane in a downward spiral...you can try to get it flyin straight and you might succeed for a few seconds but ultimately, that plane is going down unless some serious heroics are pulled off.

CJ was a part of the downward spiral. But I defended him and still do. Barry, go back and have a look at who was playing the blame game previously in posts...ohhhhh suprise...it was And-o et al.

CJ needed a "No Fire Clause" to force Gainey to get some roster help back in Nov. How long will it take Gainey to fill our first line center need? I hope not after three years.
