Washington is ANOTHER team at the bottom of the conference that we've yet to beat! Let's just hope Huet has a good game against them and the team puts on the same effort that they did against Pittsburgh which, contrary to many people's belief, was a strong effort. 46 shots aint bad!

If those two things happen, I don't see how we can lose... after all, the team can't afford to lose anymore!

Famous last words again. Now nothing against your comment, but as long as we have players who just do not give a damn about the dynasty known as The Monteal Canadiens (yes that was meant for Kovy)  we are going no where. Another last place team we should beat, but I am sorry to say our team just wants to fold the tent and play golf. They are dissinterested and just cannot get along. If what Barry saw was true then Kovy does need to go and I mean trade him the day the season is over. I will not use the C word but Kovy in my opinion is the big problem in the D room. he thinks he can get away with anything he wants. We need the 2 points against the Caps but I just do not feel this team can win.

Good point, david.  I can't see how any player can live and play in Montreal, see everything that goes on with the organization, see the huge passioin in the 21,000 fans every night, and yet feel no pride in wearing the CH.  If it were Anaheim or San Jose, I could understand (but not like) it.  In Montreal, that attitude defies logic!

That is a whole lot of players on the "who's not" list.  Interestingly enough, Aebischer is not on it though.  However, both of the Caps' goalies are not hot.

Looking back to last game, there's a lot to be concerned about for tonight. We now see why the Theodore for Aebsicher trade was one for one. We gave up one lousy goalie to get another. Thankfully, Huet seems to be a different story, though he will probably be a little rusty after riding the bench for a week -- for no good reason IMO.

Of greater concern is our offense. Did everyone notice where it came from last game? Boillon set up the first goal (Bulis) with an individual effort the likes of which this team hasn't seen in ages. Then Garth Murray (of all people) deflects a point shot in. Then Souray blasts two pucks into the net to give us a lead. See a pattern developing here? Defensemen responsible for all four goals -- against the last-place team in the league. Where were our forwards??? Why are our defensemen having to contribute all the offense when they should be playing D? And they SHOULD be playing D!

Yes, the team had 40-odd shots on goal. But how many were good scoring chances? How many were power-play shots? How many had no chance of beating even the lowly Pens' netminders?

The team is suffering from offensive anemia brought on by both inability and lack of effort, and the scariest part is, I don't believe that Bob Gainey or Guy Carbonneau or Doug Jarvis have a clue as to how to correct it. And the players themselves certainly don't. This coaching staff all played with great offensive players during their careers, but they weren't great themselves at scoring. Where's the help going to come from?

The Caps aren't a great team or even a good team. Same goes for the Habs. Until Koivu, Kovalev, Ryder, Ribeiro, Zednik and all the other underperfomers on the front line get their act in gear. we're going to struggle. There's desperation in their eyes, not confidence, and not nearly enough hustle in their legs. It's ironic that the one guy who busted his butt (Cube) ends up being the one whose leg gets hurt. I'd trade 'em all for a team of Bouillons.

Any game that our goalies don't stand on their heads, we're going to lose, I'm afraid.

-Weak goal on Huet

-When Komo scored, did anybody notice the bench, they were pretty pumped for the guy, he must be well liked.

-All over the Caps, and so far no good chances from Ovechkin

-Atlanta up 1-0

-Keep up the good work boys and Huet lets stay focused out there.

I saw the highlight, and saw Koivu fish the puck out of the net.  I imagine that one will be going on the Komisarek family trophy shelf.

Atlanta now up 2-0.  Not good news for the boys.............

That was Zednik getting Komo's first goal puck.  The boys are playing the way they should be playing.

3 goals in two minutes!  Awright!!!!!!!

And who was it who said Ryder would score?  Any more predictions?

Could someone describe his goal for me, please?

A case of mistaken identity.

Atlanta up 5-0 after two, so the Habs need to hang on to this one.

Sainte Lorette, hear our plea!

To follow up on my own thought............. Komisarek also has an assist tonight!  How many NHL regulars triple their season's offensive output in one night this late in the year?!

Thank St. Lorette, Ovechkin waited 59 and a half minutes to wake up.
