.............. and like the original Y2K, this one too will disappoint. The actual event will not live up to the buildup. (That was a good thing in the original Y2K!) Pfut.
No deep thoughts or creative games, just a big Thank You to all of you for reading my posts and contributing to the fabric of this great site. I can't believe it's been 2,000 (plus the ones on the old site!) - without pissing too many people off. Thank You Mario, for giving us this great venue to vent and express ourselves. Joseph Howe would be proud of you! ** And thank you to moderators Figaro & Johab (and special contributor Spiderman) for keeping it between the lines.
Much of the reason for my proclivity for plentiful postings is my employment status. Interviews last week went well (I thought), but did not result in jobs. I have two more interviews/meetings this coming week. (Still, I don't regret walking out of my last job after 12 years - it's a worse mess over there than I even had predicted! They asked me to come back before Christmas, and I said No.)
Once (if) I get a job, the volume of postings will diminish, I'm sure. Still, I thank you all for contributing to what has become part of my "staying sane while job-hunting" campaign.
Cheers!
Yours in Hab Fandom,
Nil d

Congrats on 2K. I for one enjoy reading your posts. Objective, sometimes fierey, other times humourous, but always worth a read.
Okay, enough of the Hallmark moment. Joseph Howe was a pioneer in Nova Scotia for freedom of speach. He went on trial for libel, as he merely published an editorial, that he didn't authour, that critized the government and their handling of financial affairs. During his trial he made a 6 1/2 hour speach expounding the virtues and nessecities of liberty and freedom of the press.

You win the prize!
And thanks for the kind comments. May I reciprocate? You're one of the recent GoHabbers whose posts I have really gotten to like. I may scan others at times, but yours I always read start to finish. Cheers!
(And this being Post #2001, I dedicate this one to all the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and to the valiant firefighters and workers who gave time, effort, and lives in response to the madness.)

Nil, we barely agree on Habs related issues but I find you're always respectfull of my opinions. I also sense from reading every single one of your posts that you're a good person.

Thank you, AB. I try to be a good guy, even when defending the Captain. For you - who are also always respectful and full of information - to call me a captain is an honour!

Congrats on the 2000! Vive l'Acadie, and here's to less posts and more cash in your future Nil.
Thank you for that sentiment, plouf. And may I say something about you? I find you the most erudite and well-spoken of all posters. Obviously a well-educated man - or at least a smart one. So there!

Keep 'em flying' Nil! I have said it again and again, but you are in my top 5 fav posters and that hasn't changed in the 3 seasons I have been here and I don't ever see it changing. Cheers to you, my captain, my captain...
Hey Nil Congrats on the 2K I didn't have time to make your special 2K message, as it's my kids birthday today (sorry, some things take precedence), but look for it coming up HAPPY 2012th (the year of Acadian independence?)
Well, we are a distinct society, but we like the government's social programs too much to ever separate!
Thanks Brook! Keep 'em coming.
