OK boys, just so you know, Hainsey has played in 39 games for the Jackets with 2 goals, 12 assists and +- of 0. Tonight he scored a highlite goal and was solid.

Komi played 54 games with no goals, one assist and is -8 on a way better team.

I like Komi and still think he'll be a good defensemen but at the same time did we give up on Hainsey too early? I'm asking because after all we're still partly paying his salery.

I think in this new NHL, Hainey will be just fine!

Still don't understand the Steit thing when Hainsey could of played that same style but with his youth still improve. Someone explain how Gainey chose Streit over Hainsey?

Another error by Gainey because we're still paying for it literally! Hey, I guess he sees more in Simpson and Streit than Hainsey. Whatever!

We'll save Ward for another post at season's end. I can tell you though, I miss his work ethic.

I can't agree with you more.  However, Hainsey's problems in Montreal had to do with his committment to the game.  He was inconsistant.  There are more distractions in Montreal than Columbus.  Apparently, he got caught up in the Montreal lifestyle that have ruined carreers of many prospects over the years.  He's lucky yto have been given a new start elsewhere.

I think big Kommy will be a force in the NHL in a few years, as long as we take our time to develope him.  His play is magical from time to time, but horrible at others.  Give the young kid a few years to step it up.  It is hard to break into this league as a defenseman.

It's hard to give Komisarek, or anybody right now, some slack when they are life and death to get into the playoffs.  If the Canadiens were either definately in OR definately out, I would be willing to give him all the time he needed.

Komi is playing just fine right now, but as I have said many times, big men take longer to develop, just look at Pronger. I would take Komi of Hainsey every time. Hainsey had a lot of chances to prove himself to the Habs and failed every time. Gainey did not give him away, either. He needed a D, called him up and he was unfortunately grabbed. It sucks to lose a decent prospect, but he was doing us no favours.

I guess the bigger concern is that Gainey seemed to choose Streit over Hainsey than a bad decision to call him up only to lose him on the waiver and now is still partly paying his wage. He should of left him on the farm and packaged him up in a trade or gave him a chance rather than signing Streit who is the same type of player but older.

I think if they would of let him do his thing and show his creativity rather than restraining him until his defensive play was better, he would of shown some special things for us while improving at both ends. He is proving to be better than Komi this season on a weaker team. Again, I think in the long run Komi will be more solid defensivley but Hainsey is more a Markov type guy. My guess is that in the right situation and in this new NHL, if handled right Hainsey will be an important player like Markov is for us in a few years. It's all about confidence because he has the ability.

Hainsey is a head case, he thinks he's the best. People in Hamilton booed him regularly and they love Dags.

So the people from Hamilton are smart or stupid? What are you saying? They should boo Dags and loved Hainsey or vice versa?

Also right handed shooting defense men get alonger look than lefties - they are like left handed pitchers in baseball if you have one you have patience how else can you explain Wade Belak being in the NHL after more than ten years since being drafted.......
