Looking at the way Edmonton is playing (and even Carolina, losing twice to Florida), you have to wonder (again) about the wisdom of adding talent this late in the season. Sometimes it messes up team chemistry. And Edmonton, always a borderline team, went from super-hot to super-cold following the trades. I hope they pull it together.

Where is your source??? Skov and to plouf....had Carolina won their last 2 games as well as Edmonton, we'd all be wishing we had made a trade saying "look what it did for their teams" Fact is....it would take more than a trade to get our team to where they are, and at the moment, id rather let this TEAM get to the playoffs themselves. All these guys ( with exception to Aebischer ) have been here all year and know what this team has been through. As you can see, once they start rolling, its hard to stop them!

I think Gainey should have made a deal as I feel we are just walking a VERY fine line right now. It is not like we are dominating games. We are squeaking by on lucky bounces and unreal goaltending. It is a very fine line between winninga nd losing for the habs right now. Thankfully, we have been winning. But I am lead to wonder had we lost half trhe games we deserved to lose the last 2 weeks would everyone be as content with our team right now.

It would have been great to pick up a scorer, but I am glad it wasn't Bert. I prefer waiting for the summer free agents than having spent players and cash on him.

I'd say the bounces (or calls) have been unlucky, actually. But yes, I agree we are basically an average team on a lot of levels. The point I wanted to make was just that deadline trades rarely change the team all that much for the better, because the chemistry can get messed up. I think trades rarely have as much positive short-term impact as they are made out to, so I'm happy waiting until summer.
