This is a big game. Tell me, if you're Gainey, who do you start? Huet is on fire right now. My gut tells me Huet gets the start. But you have to get the feeling all these starts would have to start piling up soon. Imagine if we could get both goalies going on hot streaks?

I think it's time to let Aebischer be a part of the family and give him a start. Huet needs to rest and why push our luck? We can't have this guy burn out or a pulled groin from tired muscles. Just a thought!

I say we go with the hot hand. Start Huet in the big games against Tampa (13th) and Carolina (16th, after three days' rest), then start Aebischer against Pittsburgh on Saturday.
With two games in two nights (20/21), go with Huet on the 20th and Aebischer on the 21st.
There! Settled.

Gainey said Huet won't play both Monday and Thursday. He'll only play in one of them. We just don't know which one. But if I were Gainey, I'd start Aebischer tomorrow.
I think if I am Gainey, you have to keep going with Huet. He is going to have a tough descision to make in a few months, who stays, and who goes. There is no way the Habs will sign both of these guys in the off season. One will be given away for nothing as a UFA. I think you have to keep going with Huet to see if he is the real deal, or another Jose. I said when we traded for Abby, I thought he would play in 2 or 3 games this year, and I still think I am correct. Huet, if he is the real deal, will play most of our games until the playoffs, when he will play all. If Huet is for real, he is our future, and if not, we had better hope for a big free agent goalie in the off season.
I'd start Aebicsher because I wouldn't want to keep him on the shelf any longer. I'd sit down with both he and Huet, and explain what's the deal. I think they are both great goalies and team players that they'd understand. You have to think that Gainey wants to get the Aeb show on the road. I'd put Huet vs Carolina to say that we trust him to take on the best team in the league (as a reward for his uber play). Either way, last games between Burke and Grahame, they have a GAA of over 5.50 and save % of about 77%. Even Colorado Avalanche netminder Josee Theodore has better stats than that.
I think this is an even bigger game for Tampa. They absolutely need this game. They are loosing ground fast. Tortorella seems like he's going to keel over any day now. Every highlight I see of TB games, they never forget to show a glimpse of Tortorella's disgust....to conclude, the Lightening will be playing desperation hockey.
I was going to say start ABBY, but you gotta keep riding a hot goalie. I would go with Huet tonight, but he would likely need a rest after this one. Maybe not such a bad thing if Abby starts tonight, because the fans will give him a warm reception.
I say, give Aebischer a real test against Carolina on Thurs. He was the #1 goalie in COL, well, let's see what you're made of...
