We are one to the hottest teams in the nhl right now and we don't get any respect - what gives? Thats what you get when you live in the TSN region - Toronto Sports Network :)
In fairness, RDS picks Mtl games' three stars right? The three stars from last nigh were 1. Huet, 2. Rivet and 3. Begin. C'mon, I agree with Huet, and maybe Rivet as the third, as he did score the game's only goal, but, Lundqvist doesn't get a nod? Remember when Dagenais got the second star for scoring a shootout goal and he only played like 3 minutes for the entire game? These network types know there market. RDS caters to those of us that are Habs fans, and TSN caters to the Toronto market as it is the largest in Canada. I saw on the last Habs-Buds game on TSN where Healy, when talking about the Leafs, kept saying "What we need to do is". I've heard Grapes use the same terminology on HNIC.
And as far as getting respect from the rest of league, aren't the Habs just riding a hot goalie? I don't think the play in front of Huet has been all that stellar. Maybe if they can win a series (cue the song "Dream Weaver") then perhaps they will generate some respect.

Disagree. I think the play of the Habs has been excellent. Lots of energy and coherence. Lots and lots of chances. Not to say the hot goalie isn't the reason they aren't playing so well.
i think the play of rivet and souray is a huge reason why the habs are playing well i dont want to take anything away from huet but rivet and souray play a huge part in huet success just watch the job they do in front of the net!
I disagree. Rivet is playing well, but still not a number one defenseman. Souray is shooting the puck more, but it seems as though he is coughing the puck up in his own zone more often than he used to. The Habs are playing better than they were just 2 months ago, but, Huet still has to come up large every night to keep them in the game. It's as though different guys are picking up their games of late, like Ribeiro (yes, Ribeiro), Bonk (on the pk), Zednik, etc., but, it is still a struggle for the net minder.

I disagree, heet. Yes the hot goalie is the main reason, but that drives the team in front of him to play with confidence. Many of the players - Higgins, Bonk, Ribeiro, Rivet, Souray, Dandenault - are playing their best hockey of the year.
By the way, I also was surprised to see Rivet get a star yesterday. I thought the little Cube Bouillon played a huge game.

Yes sir Nil'd, I thought the cube was brilliant. In fact, I notice Gainey uses him in many key situations. That guy just makes solid plays ane he rarely gives me cardiac arrhythmias.
Gotta love Bouillon. He rarely makes mistakes, unlike Souray, who is kind of up and down, even in his best games. Souray might be our best defenseman at the moment, which is amazing after his rough start, but he still does things that drive you mad. I don't think he'll ever be a truly great defensive player because he's prone to brain cramps. But he's definitely a very good defenseman right now. Anyway, our defense corps as a whole is looking pretty good. Dandenault is the only one who's not impressing me lately.
