There's a great aryicle in today Montreal gazette remembering the Montreal Forum which closed 10 years ago tonight. http://www.canada.com/montrealgazette/news/sports/story.html?id=a6c065b5-e8b3-4f08-b742-cc1833f0c1d6&k=12045
I loved the old Forum! And I have a piece of it (a seat) sitting in my basement! I'll bet several of you have as well.

Wow, you lucky guy. I have no momentos, except photos of the one time my son and I went to a game in the old Forum. I have a photo of him and me at ice level....it was pretty awesome touring the Forum before the game. The experience alone was worth it. The home fans even understood my very poor French.......
Hi all, new member here...just had to register when I saw the thread about the Forum. I too consider myself lucky enough to have a seat from the Forum which I pull out every night I can get a game on the tube down here in NY and sit on to watch my beloved Habs ......call me a die hard I guess lol I very much miss the Old Forum as the Bell Centre has no atmosphere...maybe soul would be a better word. I also consider myself lucky to have seen the Stanley Cup carried around the Forum ice for the last time in 1993. As it turns out it was a once in a lifetime experience that I will never forget.
during the late eighties I was involved in some business which took me to Ottawa four to six times a year over a period of three winter seasons ....I was in the Forum at least thirty times .....I used to take Voyaguer bus lines from Ottawa to Montreal , a ticket was involved as part of a package deal , but they weren't great seats so after while I'd get off the bus and buy from the scalpers........all you had to do was yell " who's got reds ?" and you would be surrounded ......sure it cost more then what the hell ...it got you in the Forum
sometime during this period I finally got a credit card and sometimes was able to get some tickets from the box office ....I loved the Forum ..for a life long hab fan it really was like a pilgrimage to a sacred shrine .....

Hi Peart! Welcome to this passionate group. Great to have Hab fans below the border - altough in Plattsburg, you are barely south of it. (I, living in Halifax, NS, am south of you!)
(And this is my Post #1956! In the early morning of July 2, 1956, Mrs. d gave birth to a bouncing, 8 lb. 14 oz. baby boy, her 11th child (9th boy, a full baseball team), and named him after the parish priest, Msgr. Nil Theriault.)

Thanks for the welcome Nil. I am probably about as passionate a Habs fan as you will find South of the Border. Hell...I knew O' Canada before I knew our National anthem and I could whistle the Hockey Night in Canada theme by the time I was 5...or at least thats what my father tells me lol I got into playing hockey at the age of 5 and my favorite words back in the day were LaFleur shoots....he scores!!!!!! As you can guess living as close to Montreal as I do that it was a natural choice for me to become a Habs fan although I do have to admit that in my tiny hometown I was surrounded by Bruins fans *spit* I've been out of the area for the past 2 1/2 years so my game attendance hasn't been good but I have to go to at least 2 before the playoffs begin. As always.....GO HABS GO!!!!!
