Sheldon Souray and Todd Simpson were team mates for Tri-Cities during the 92-93 & 93-94 seasons .....apparently Simpson has quite the sense of humour and is a good locker room guy , I know a fellow who played with Simpson in the AHL and he says he is a solid character guy , good team player ..in terms of toughness he's a middle weight with average skills ..a good solid role player .....
I think he will replace a guy like Quintal who we had the last time there were playoffs. He was an important guy against the Bruins, hopefully Simpson will do the same.

Simpson not Reid (lol) also has good leadership - I believe he was Calgary's team captain for awhile before he started his oddessy of traveling through out The NHL (seven teams & counting).........
