Higgins/Plekance PK Wizards

These guys did a great job on the PK last night.  They had one breakaway and should of had two.  But the main thing is, the didn't allow a PP goal.  Both of them have great wheels to jump on loose pucks, they kill penalites off with high energy, and clog the shooting lanes.

With Gainey, Jarvis & Carbo teaching these guys, its scary to think how good this duo is going to become at the PK.

Our PK was all around great. The guy who really impressed me was Bonk. He's great in tight (less great in open ice). He has excellent hand-eye coordination for interceptions and picking out pucks in the air. Not sure why he can't translate that into the odd goal, however.
Pleks, Begin and Higgins were so quick to get on the puck-carriers, I loved their aggressiveness.

Higgins does like to gamble though, I like his new confidence but he makes me nervous sometimes. In 5 on 5 he caused one really bad turnover when we were up 1-0, with Ryder and Koivu both parked in scoring locations, could easily have been a goal. On that play Higgins needed to get it on net or get it to his linemates, but he decided to try to beat his man down the wing. Mistake, because he's not Zednik or Kovalev at this point, good as he has been.
