I really like Mike Komisarek and he is playing very well. But please, please, please let Andre Markov handle the puck. Komisarek is soft when handling the puck. He can't shoot hard, he can't pass hard, and he can't clear the puck hard. I really think he has difficulty raising the puck. For such a big man, its kind of funny that he can't handle the puck with more force. But whenever he gets the chance when he's paired with #79 he should be doing D-to-D and allow Markov to make the outlet pass or bring it up ice.
Agreed. I like Komi's play of late, especially his positioning. But he does have trouble clearing sometimes. Occasionally I wish he'd just flip the puck straight up and out, instead of the soft bank off the boards which never seems to clear the zone.

I think he actually looks scared out there. Funny for a big man. It's not like he is going to het hurt. He is more likely to get hurt playing a gentle game.
Hey Mulsy...And-o thinks Komi seems to panic with the puck...as opposed to being afraid! And-o thinks he is getting more and more confident though as time passes.
...if he is scared to go into the corners - just imagine how the opposing wingers feel??? The guy looks like Herman Munster from the neck down!!!
The Komi is coming along just fine, I think. He's a gentle guy, right? I'm not old enough to really know, so this is more a question but wasn't Larry Robinson gentle also? Is there any comparison on how each developed (in context to their eraa, of course.)
Big Bird was so gentle when he played. Ask Dave Schultz how docile Robinson was. The Hammer looked crosseyed at Guy Lafleur once and was pummelled by Robinson. Left the Hammer dazed and confused with a broken jaw. Very one-sided tilt.(And all you old Hab fans out there must remember that fight)

Players actually admited of being intimidated by Robinson. When he got mad, it was ugly. I remember one fight he had (I forget the player), in the matter of a second he had the player on one knee and Robinson swung a punch to his head and stopped it in motion. He could of gave the guy a facelift but it looked like he had pity for him. Never forget that incident. Yeah, no one wanted to really mess with him.
You know Quintal was kind of like that. I seriously think he was the toughest guy I've ever seen play for Montreal since the Robinson era. But he was a gentle soul at heart, so it took a long time to get him mad. Once he was mad though, he could take ANYONE in this league.

Hockeyman, you have a great memory. I think it was about mid 70's and we were playing Flyers in the finals. Shultz was kind of gooning Lafleur and Robinson wanted to end it before it started to send a message that the Flyers weren't going to intimate the boys. Man, did he ever pound him! The fight was over before it started. It kind of put an end to Shultz career as an enforcer(goon).
Hockeyman, I'm probably off on the time frame but I do remember that fight. I'm I right about it being the playoff finals?
If Komi turns out with half the talent as Robinson, we have a good player. Man, I liked Robinson! Just so steady! If his career was in this era, he'd still be the best. The guy could skate, shoot and play defense like no other. He was a horse and no one wanted to get him mad! The guy was strong.
Key Lime - The player in question who Robinson had down on one knee believe it or not was.......Mike Milbury - I remember this because Milbury kept pushing or yapping at Big Bird until he had enough of that knob but unfortuately for Hab fans and fortuately for Milbury - Robinson did not fill him in (but Milbury did his job & got Big Bird off the ice) .........
