Montreal wins this and it's lights out for the Laffs. And 1 place higher for the Habs. So 2 great reasons to win this one. Personally, I can't wait to see the dismantling of the Laffs. Bye McCabe, bye Belfour, bye Allison, bye Sundin (he deserves better.)
I guarantee a win. 4-1 Habs. It won't matter who starts in goal for the Habs because there is so much preassure in TO, they will be trying to hard and won't know what to do.
Kovalev, Markov, Koivu and Ryder. Assists from Perez, Ribs and Souray

Actually I agree. Sundin does deserve better. He is not the player he used to be in Toronto but he has given his heart and soul to that team. I have always liked the guy in a grudging sort of way. He shows passion for the game, for his teamates, and for the fans. And in all the years I have watched him play I have never seen him take a cheap shot at anyone. This game scares me though. Toronto is a desperate team right now and desperate teams can sometimes surprise you. Win or lose, I would dearly love to see Tuckefr drop the gloves with someone and get hammered. Somehow that would make this season all worthwile and all would be right in the universe.

CBC.ca has a list of buyers and sellers, as well as teams in limbo for the trade deadline. Leafs are still listed as a buyer. i'd think right now they'd be more in limbo then anything?

It will be interesting to see if the Habs have anything left in the tank for this one! Lets hope for a good solid road game that will finish the Leafs.
I was wondering about the same thing. Here's the first Habs' game I'll have seen on TV in over a month; I hope it's not a stinker!

I can't BELIEVE I won't be able to watch this game. It's CJAD for me.

Odds are not with the Habs. You have a desperate Leafs team vs a tired habs squad. If habs pull it out it will be a character win

I concur... sucks that I have to teach right in the middle of the game! Huet needs to keep going what he had in overtime or this may not turn out very well...

Have to agree here. I'm not feeling confident right now. The guys looked pretty cooked at the end of overtime last night.
1-1, mistake by Rivet. Sounds like Habs are slightly outplaying the Leafs so far.
Like Julien, Gainey does some questionable things as a coach. He insists on putting Kovalev and Ribiero out there during 4 on 4 situations. He put them out there last night and it almost cost the habs too. Now although these guys are gifted offensively, they are defensive liabilities out there. And when you put them out there together on a 4 on 4 with all that open ice, those liablilities are magnified when the puck is in the habs end. Although a poor clearing attempt by Rivet, you have Ribs and Kovalev running around in their end wondering what to do that probably contributed to it as much as anything.

I thought Zednik was the best Habs player - great to see. Komisarek and Rivet - two players bragged up by everyone lately - had bad first periods. Rivet's soft playing directly cost us that first goal. Cube & Markov looking solid.
Kovy looking good. Ryder looking lost. Koivu working hard; Higgins continues to impress.
Zednik/Bonk/Bulis line by far the best tonight.
I don't see why you all have been crapping on McCabe lately. He looks pretty solid to me.
Hope the Habs have enough gas left for two more periods. Their speed will be the key.

Habs shot advantage of 14-10 in that period. Just got to watching this game on RDS (will not watch TSN-Toronto Sports Network) when Habs had 2 man advantage. Good pressure by Mtl and Balfor was very sharp. If Habs continue pressing in the 2nd & 3rd they should do ok. Weak penalty call on Komi but I guess with the injury to Cole the refs will be calling all hits close to the boards.

That 5 on 3 bothered me. They were looking for the perfect play and ended up with very few quality shots (that save on Ryder was lucky though). Maybe I'll never be a good coach, but I say jam the crease and blast away.

5 0n 3 for Toronto..as usual the refs are wearing blue and white. Now another penalty to Markov. What a JOKE! Tucker runs into Souray and they call Souray for interference!???? Everytime we play these jokers it is the same thing all the time. But the good news is they killed all of them off. Montreal is showing me something I have not seen all year

Same old story with the refs. when Habs play the Laffs. They always have at least one period when they call everything that remotely looks like a penalty against Mtl. Laffs have taken over the shots on goal 21-16 but the Habs have been shorthanded all period. Fortunately Tor hasn't been able to score and they are starting to look a little discouraged.
I hope the zebras are happy. They called enough penalties on Mtl to finally get the result they were desiring. Pathetic display of officiating. Habs score with .06 secs remaining. Hope it boosts them for the 3rd.
The key to the Habs is simple - stay out of the F#$%$#@%^ penalty box! At least the Habs are "owed" a few in the third. Not supposed to work that way, but it does. (Exhibit A: McCabe's penalty for looking at Downey as he went by.)
Question for the rules hounds: with two Habs in the box and a third Hab penalty called (which doesn't start until the first two are done) how do they decide which of the first two guys gets out when the two minutes are up?

This must be the weirdest game i have watched all season... Sending in their back-up with .06 seconds left.....lol this is too much.
Begin deserves a big raise for putting his gonads in front of that shot in the dying seconds of that 5-on-3! And to think the got him for nothing a couple of years ago!

I believe the play has to stop before either can leave the penalty box, then both could leave but only one could stay on the ice. Am I correct?
