Mark Bell, Tyler Arnason, Denis Gauthier, Oli Jokinen, Todd Bertuzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz......zzzzzz......zzzzz

Bob Gainey flies wayyyy further beneath the radar than this!

And-o expects some moves outta Bob...but these seem just too obvious!

One major problem with gainey right now is he also happens to be head coach and on the road. Really hard to make deals when you are running a practice, behind the bench, or sitting in a hotel room in Philly.

No worries Barry33 ~ relax!

Bob's cell phone will be fully charged...besides, And-o gets the feeling that this guy doesn't buy socks without updating a complete project plan.

Does anyone truly expect a blockbuster deal for the Habs?  I can't see it because we just don't have the trade bait.  Zeddy is about the best we can offer.

No one would dispute how Gainey micromanages the Canadiens, but all evidence points to the fact that he does place a high value in Andre Savard and Pierre Gauthier in terms of player evaluation, so he may have off loaded some player analysis on to them with regards for potential deals.

With regards to some potential deals that maybe not on the radar screen that would be attractive for the Canadiens needs, and based on circumstances that could be realisitic, here are a couple of scenarios: Willie Mitchell from Minnesota. Big, physical d man. He has a heavy shot and strong positionally in his own end. Can eat up a lot of valuable minutes. He is a free agent at the end of the year, and with Minny facing several UFA, they may not be able to resign him. The Habs may not have to give up substantial amount to acquire him.  Jeff Friesen, he is having a horrible year in Washington, but he has great speed, and could add some real jump on  a third line basis. Washington is ready to deal him and he may not come at a great price. David Vyborny from Columbus, another UFA at the end of the year. Great playmaking skills, not so great without the puck which does not endear him to the Columbus coaching staff, and again he might be available for not a steep price. Lastly, and a much greater stretch, but Keith Tkachuk is rumuored to be available. A pur3e power forward and St.Louis is apparently in cost cutting mode. Of course he has a big contract and the price may be significant, but if the Blues are looking for cost certainty the price may not be quite as high.

Having made all these assumptions, based on Gainey's track record, the play of the team at this moment, and most significantly the lack of tradable commodities the habs will probably stand pat. Nonetheless I don't think anyone saw the Kovalev move coming, so stranger things can happen.

I really hope he does make a move, but he's been silent all year. Now would be the perfect time to do something and fill some holes on this team, but something's telling me he isn't going to.

Wishful thinking however says that he will pull off a Kovalev-esque deal that nobody could ever have imagined.

I heard tonight that Bell is not going anywhere. Too bad, he was my first choice for a pickup. Young and tough. Can play centre or wing.

Never heard of those players you mentioned but they sound like a good mix for the habs ,but (tkachuk ) if you want to lose any chemistry on a team i think he's the man for that ...don't like him as a player i think he's one of those high priced cry  babies who is NOT a team player
