Nilsey- I think it is a stratch to say that Saks only wanted practice off after being asked if he had anything left to play against the Islanders? But irrelevant. He did play. As for Ribs, I saw a chink in Gainey's coaching last night. I remember some jumping on CJ last fall for putting Ribiero out there with time running down in the 3rd period. I was actually shocked when, score 5-2, in a 4 on 4 situation, Gainey throws Kovalev and Ribiero out there (hardly our 2 best defensive players). As I had feared, Islanders score. C'mon Bob, you are smarter than that!

I can say good coach but great? To be a great coach you would have to be in the same class as Bowman. I really liked Julien and I'm convinced he'll be back in the NHL on day...he's a good coach but great coaches have a gift of playing with players' minds to achieve positive outcomes. Not sure CJ proved that YET. One day - I wish him good luck.

Actually CJ will be the first to admit that he has much to learn. For what it is worth he tells me that one of the biggest thrills he ever had was meeting Bowman who he feels was the master. He told me it was an honor to coach against him.

Barry, how close did you get to coaching professionally, at the NHL level?
Seems you have all the tools to be an effective coach now - ever thought about giving it a go??

I'm beginning to think he didn't say those things about Saks or Kovy. Think about it, he plays with Kovy, why would he want to piss him off after saying he likes to play with him?

He said he didn't say that or even give an interview. He also said Saks was the leader.....end of story.

I don't think he is that stupid to say those things. The guy is harmless.

AB, I have yet to see any credible source for his statements, so I too do not think he said anything. I have even started to think that he is stepping up his play of late, and would think that saying something like he was accused of, would be counterproductive to his career.

It isn't the Canadiens' season that has become a soap opera........it is turned into one by the media, some fans and some posters.

Ok, let's say that he didn't make those comments...where was he last night? Ribs can't afford to take nights off anymore. THAT is counterproductive to his career. Actually, the Habs can't afford for Ribs or anyone else to have off nights anymore. Ribs is being fingered because he smelled for most of the season, he got benched, he played on the forth line, he smelled again, he was put on Kovy's line and we finally saw him shine a few nights and was getting his game back only to have an invisible performance like last night. It's a gift For Ribs to play with Kovy and Perez because he didn't earn it. He was put on that line because of the line shuffling BG was forced to do.

Am I laying it thick. A little. I admit but we need him to perform every night. I want him to gain success...We ask that from Saks, why not from the player who we thought would have a monster season for the Habs in the new NHL?

Then, with the exception of Huet, you will need to call everyone to the carpet for last nights performance. It was sloppy from one end to the other. Like I said on another post somewhere, with the exception of the goals (5 of 'em, no less), the Canadiens looked like they were lost. There, I have expressed that I expect better performances from the entire team, now what in good bloody Christ does that have to do with someone making up a story about Ribeiro questioning Koivu's leadership?

Besides, what line shuffling did BG have to do? He had the same lineup last night that he had before the Olympic break.

Relax there heet, what's with the prophanity?...I expressed that we can't afford having any player not give 100%. Read my earleir posts. Assuming that he did say those things about Saks, how can he have a pitiful game like last night? He should hide his face. I understand that we are reluctant to believe that his comments were the truth. Ok, I also admitted that in an earlier post.

My point was that we have given Ribs multiple chances this year. Now he finds himself between two talents and Saks is put on a less talented line. This is his time to shine, right? He does but I don't want him to stop. I'm kind of saying that of any player, he is the least allowed to have an off night because of the chances the Habs have given him all year.

Line shuffling? I'm talking about BEFORE the Olympic Break when things were going south. BG had to shuffle his lines. Ribs went form 4th line to playing with Perez and Kovy. What is up with your reading skills? Read slower man...and don't be so aggresive with other posters.
