I'm going to be bold againand say that Zed will turn it around. He'll be key down the stretch. I hope I'm right because my thinking is Gainey won't make a trade. Now, saying that, I hope I'm wrong about the second statement.
I'm with you Ab. I don't see a trade happening. The main reason being the habs have nothing that other teams want. Except Markov and Souray...but they are going nowwhere.
Gainey might throw in a couple of draft picks and a prospect for Arneson if they put themselves in a playoff spot...otherwise wait till next year.

I think Zed could be packaged in a deal. But for Selanne? I'm not sure about that one. I would love it if Bob could swing that deal, but it doesn't seem to plausible. Arnason seems more likely, but who knows what Bob might have up his sleeve.
Seeing the way Koivu and Selanne played so well together in Turin, it made me wonder if Saku was talking to him at all about how much fun they might have playing together in Mtl. That would certainly be a nice thing to see happen.
Koivu tried to get him here before the year started but Selanne's wife likes California alot so no go. Now for the stretch drive and playoffs might be a different story. It'll start getting warmer in Montreal.
Speaking of Zednik. No points again, even though the Habs got 5 goals. Thing is, Zednik might just get it together for the playoffs. I have a feeling he will, if he's not traded.

And didn't it seem like he got a TON of ice time. Almost as if BG is trying to get him out of his funk. And will someone please tell him to keep two hands on the stick. I can just see a rash of penalties coming his way.

Also, I've heard that Selanne loves cars and the sun. Habs climate wouldn't fit him. What I don't understand though, why not go where you may have success and make more dough because of it. Players careers are short. Make the most of it now and then when he retires, he can have all the beaches, cars and woman he needs while wearing a Stanley Cup ring to show off.
The trade deadline is only 9 days away...I think Gainey must make a move. The media, the fans, and even most players on the Habs want a move. However, eventhough this is nmot much of a prediction, the trade will not be a Blockbuster one!
