Baseball?? A little off topic.....
Permalink Closed

So Olympic hockey is over, just waiting until tuesday night to see what the habs will do for the rest of the way to push towards the playoffs.  While were waiting, who here is a baseball fan, and more importantly who is a Jays fan.  The reason why i bring this up is for the first time probably since the world series run in 92,93....they have a strong team to make a impact this year.

They pick up the 2 best/strongest players in the free agent market:

1) Lyle Overbay

2) A.J. Bernett

And you can also look at guys such as Benji Molena, Troy Glaus....so takes the pressure off of guys like Wells, Hinske, Hillanbrand.....i'm excited for this season, so i'll make a prediction right now, JAYS IN THE PLAYOFFS, MIGHT BE A WILDCARD, BUT THERE GETTING IN!!!!

They'll be a much better team! The guy I'll miss is Hudson but you have to trade value to get value!

You are all right. Traded for Overbay. We will miss Hudson's acrobatics in the infield but have an upgrade on his bat. I think the Jays will push for the division this year. They'll be ahead of Bosotn for sure and NYY should look over their shoulders. It will be a fun season for the first time in a while.

Hey, I'm a Jays fan. I'm very pleased with what they've done in the offseason and I'm really excited for the upcoming season. I think this year they'll finally make the playoffs and do some damage. They may not win the World Series, but they finally have a respectable team.

Huge jays fan here and i too am very excited for the upcoming season. However i am upset to see my guy gone ( Hudson ) but i really like Wells and Zawn so it shouldnt be too bad. My baseball pitching classes will be starting up again soon so im looking forward to my next season in the league. Bring on baseball!!

How is Zaun going to react as second string to Molina?  Zaun's a hard working veteran leader of the team.  He played a pile of games last year, some of which, I think he shouldn't have.  I'd like to see Hillenbrand get some time in this year.  It seems almost a shame for the season he had last year to be relegated to DH or backup 3rd.  And let's hope that Chacin can carry over his success and build on it this year.

I really like Zoan also. My thoughts are that if they split duties evenly, it could work.
