Did the entire team fly in from Torino this morning? That was an awful 20 mins of, well, I guess I have to call it hockey. Couldn't clear the zone, couldn't pass, defense caught 3 times pinching in, defensive zone screw ups. Thank goodness the Isles couldn't finish and that Huet is playing the way he was going into the Olympic break.

Another thing. I guess momentum and confidence wins out over physical fatigue issue. Post-Olympic Koivu and Kovalev not dominating, but both producing. And Markov and Bulis playing well.
Two goals from the good guys to go to 5-1. PP goal by Ryder from Koivu and Souray and Higgins gets the 5th (2nd of the night). Rivet having a bad game tonight....
Looks like the non-Olympic boys (read: Huet) pickep up where they left off before the break, and even the Olympian returnees - tired or otherwise - are putting up the numbers.........
Woo hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By the way, how's my buddy Koh-arse-ki doing? His usual best to decide the outcome?

Told you my mind was going! Actually I posted, then when I went to confirm it, it wasn't there, so I went "back" on my browser to find the preview again, did an edit, and hit "Post" again. Then I went to have a look, and there it was, twice. There's a ghost in the machinery.

Wow! Someone must have knocked some sense into him during the Olympic break.......

Anyone listening to the CJAD post game show? Some caller called in and they made a comment about "Hockey Night in Canada? You mean Hockey Night in Toronto don't you?" I didn't quite catch all of it, can anyone fill me in?

Know what I really liked seeing tonight? Huet's reaction to the second Isles goal. He banged his stick, shook his head, and was clearly pissed at himself (as opposed to pointing fingers at the defensemen). This is a guy who is striving to excel and doing a damn good job at it. He won this game by keeping it close early on and giving the team confidence in him, so that they could press offensively. Great to see he's picking up where he left off. If this becomes his modus operandi for the balance of the season, the Habs should have complaints in the goaltending department.
Sure, he was lucky a couple times. But don't the best goalies always seem to have lady luck on their shoulders sometimes?

My philosophy exactly. Luck means nothing, if the effort is not put in also. God helps those who help themselves......or in this case our patron saint. Glad to see she's back.
