Interesting  to see the Olympian Habs' performance to date, as juxtaposed against their recent performance for the Habs, to wit:

Koivu - played poorly of late for the Habs; on fire in Torino.

Kovelev - ditto (has had a good game or two in the past few weeks, but generally not putting out, unlike his performance today)

Bulis - Hab's best player for the past month; sucks so far in Torino

Streit - marginally improved of late for the Habs but otherwise a non-entity for the year; played very well in Torino

Those are the anomalies; on the other hand, these two have stuck with the program:

Markov - great for the Habs; great for the Russians

Zednik - sucks for the Habs, sucks in Torino.

Your thoughts, gang?

Nil, many people have talked about the possible reasons for this juxtaposition in their play.

Possibly it's them playing with great pride for their countries. Or perhaps they work better with their olympic linemates. Whatever it may be, I don't think the majority of these guys have been bad for the Habs, but guys like Kovalev could certain step it up a notch as he's done in Torino.

At any rate, lets just hope these guys keep it going... except for Zednik... he needs a complete 180° turn in his play!
