I guess this ends all the "Who To Replace Jose" stuff thats been going on around here. Good news about this is if Danis plays a certain amount of games (More than he has) he will be a restricted free agent instead of an unrestricted free agent which he would be if he played no more games. I can't recall the numbers but I'm sure Gainey will have him play.
DANIS RECALLED BY CANADIENS
Montreal Canadiens General Manager Bob Gainey announced today that the team has recalled goaltender Yann Danis from the Hamilton Bulldogs.
Danis, 24, has appeared in 32 games with the Bulldogs, posting a record of 14-14-2, with a 2.88 goals-against average, and a 0.905 save percentage.
In six appearances with the Canadiens this season, Danis has earned a record of 3-2-0, with a 2.69 goals-against average and a 0.908 save percentage. The 6'0" 181-pound netminder was signed by the Montreal Canadiens as a free agent on March 19, 2004 after playing four seasons at Brown University
Nil, it's the lack of experience in a young goaltender that makes the stakes high in those clutch games for me. Ease my mind! - I sure hope BG knows which games to start what goalie.

Fichaud is gone Michaud is playing there with Jaroslav Halak backing him up. There was a point when Halak was thought to be the second coming of Domink Hasek. He has played well in the ECHL. The Bulldogs began the year with Michaud and DesLauriers who was returned to the ECHL by the Edmonton Oilers.

Fichaud. Michaud.
Tomayto, tomahto.
Who can keep it straight?

Its true that it could have been a simple slip of the tounge (or in this case finger) but Eric Fichaud did play with the Bulldogs a couple years back so ...
This is no surprise at all! Gainey hasn't made a trade all season even when the team totally sucked and needed a shake up so why would he now? Especially when it's almost the worst goalie in the league in stats. hurt and not playing! Who really cares? Gainey could replace him with a pilon now and it wouldn't be much worse! The important thing is our #1 goalie is healthy and playing well so Danis will fit in as a back up with no problems!
Gainey has other pressing needs that he should address!
