Well south of the broder on eastern seaboard, we were hit hard. in falmouth we got about 10 inches. Not the 15-18 they were predicting. This isnt too bad because its our firts snow and here we are Feb 12. The kicker is by wednesday we will be in the 50s so it will melt faaaaaaaaaaaast
On my front door there is no snow, but on the direct opposite side of the house down where the boat is docked there are drifts of 2-4 feet.I don't think we really got as much wind as predicted but it was windy. I bet davidb will have it pretty bad where he lives.
Hey Nil it would not be a good night for a trip on the Bluenose 18-24 foot seas on the Gulf of Maine.
Sorry to hear about the weather out there "N". Just cleaned up my clubs for my 11:00 tee time tomorrow.............there is an advantage or 2 ta live out here in the wild west. Try to interlock yer fingers on the snow shovel and give yerself a headstart for yer first outing in April????........nufsed...........cheers.......normie

Well Habjo, I don't know where the Bluenose is these days, but the Cat might handle those seas a little better. I was on it for the first time last fall (my wife & I on a trip to Bar Harbor, Maine). It was fun.

If I were a golfer, I'd be jealous, norm. Oh well, you live in a great part of the country - but I wouldn't trade it for the east Coast!
Speaking of golf, Mike Weir kind of blew it today, huh? I didn't see the end of it, but he was about 6 strokes behind with three holes to go.

Ya, I watched part of it and he was falling behind after being tied for the lead! Still a good performance and a hope of better things to come this season! The colourmen were saying that he had neck and back problems last season!

At least today he was on TV. Yesterday I watched for about an hour (a CBS feed), and did not see him once - and he was the leader!

Those who live here, know that Eastern Canada is the finest place to be. Despite what Steven Harper thinks! The best people, especially those Newfs...never met one I did not like.
NY 26 inches Loads of strom damage down cape Truro, Chatham Harwich. I cannot shovel because of the elbow thing, but my wife broke in my neighnors brand new snowblower. Went tot my mothers and while outsdie I heard a most ungodly noise. The guy across thew street was snowblowing his STONE driveway Need I say More talk about Projectiles
Have now shovelled. It's heavy stuff this time. Time for a shower................. (And Yes, this was a throw-away post, in a shameless move to get to 1,500!) -- Edited by Nil d at 10:12, 2006-02-13

No, but thanks for your concern. It wasn't that bad. About an hour and I was all done! It pays sometimes to have a short driveway.

LOL....workin'...payin off Habs tickets by working...and fooding.
I just read this posting, and i wouldn't live anywhere else but the east coast , 4 cm or 40 cm, low or high winds, we, newfies are used to it all. the weather changes every hour, so we live with it!! god bless newfoundland!!!!!!!!
You guys should both be aware that the term "Maritimes" means NS, NB, and PEI - not NL. That's because the term was coined before 1949, when NL was not yet a province. The term for the four provinces is "Atlantic Provinces".
Your geography lesson for today................

I know this is late, but I got stuck in a drift and had to walk about .5km to get home. In knee deep snow...at 2am...after work...in dress shoes and corduroys...and blinding winds...and the tow trucks couldn't make it in to save me. Oh, the horrors. Actually, it was refreshing.
