Huh?

Anyway, I expect Kovalev will be smokin from here on out. I figure he is a moody cat and he was pissed with the "clique" so packed it in and played half asses. No excuse I know, but Kovalev is one of those precious types. He can be the best player in the entire NHL; OR just average. I think HE deceides.Yikes.

In any case, I think now that they gave him the "A" and signed Koivu, he will turn it on. You gatta stroke guys like Kovalev I think. In the right setting, I think he could be a solid leader.

I know I know Barry...I can almost read your post now. And I would not disagree. Why should teams have to pander to the stars? I don't know either...

Kovalev wears the K for team Russia.  This dressing room poison is BS, why else would Mario have been persuing this guy?

I love that you stick to your guns. I may not agree about Kovalev, but I respect your loyalty.

If I had a choice, I probably would have picked someone like Markov as the 'A', or Bulis, or Souray, or Bouillon.

Not Begin though. He's the man, and deserves a ton of respect, but he's still pretty new to the team, quite young, and hasn't proven himself over a bunch of seasons.

Anyway, even if Kovalev is totally a p***k, ...he's great when he's into it!
You know how sometimes there are these self-important types that you have to kow-tow to, just to keep them happy, and you just kind of humour them to get the best out of them?
Probably the rest of the team is smart enough to know the score and just kind of tolerate Kovalev as asst. captain because it's worth it. I half wonder if that isn't why Koivu "likes" him.

You know me so well Muller...hey we dont have to like the fact that we kiss the a$$ of the star players while those who desreve to be rewarded (like Boillon) go unnoticed. It is just the way it is.

At least we can post on this board that Begin, Bulis and Bouillon rule.

Now if we could only add Bonk to that list we'd have something.

Like I said Barry, I am not in any way slamming you for your loyalty to CJ.  I think it is very admirable of you to continue to stick up for him.  We all going to see a different side of the coin.  Myself I am much more loyal to AK.  Maybe it is my jersey, or the fact he is the most tallented player we have had on this team in years.  So you and I will have to agree to disagree.  Your reasons for not liking Kovalev are the same reasons I didnt care for Julien as our coach.  Different hockey minds want different systems.  I would think you all have to admit that AK has been a whole lot better while playing with Ribs, as it looks as if Gainey has given him free offensive rain.  I guess only time will tell, and Kudos to you my friend for sticking to your guns.  Again I respect your opinions a lot Barry, and dont want to create any bad feelings, was just stating my opinion.  Fact or fiction.

One more thing.  AK has higher point per game production this year than our 4.5 million dollar man Koviu does.  So I say damn straight Kovalev wears the A.  He shows up more than our Captian.
