Barry33. Some of the greatest players in the game play when they are sick. If you are a valuable player, your are usually better at 50% than your likely replacement. Geesh, and you coach Bantom hockey?
Didn't BG play with some crazy injury once during the playoffs... Two broken or dislocated somethings.
Hey you can never tell what's going to happen. You could be an Yzerman or you could be a Bill Buckner. There's no simple rule about whether or not to play hurt.

Yes I do..Bantam Elite to be exact. There are 2 ways to look at it and I am not going to interpret it either way because I do not know. It can either be looked at as "heroic", or it can backfire and be looked at as "selfish". Whichever way you look at it, it was obvious that he was not even close to 50% the other night and in hindsite, he probably should have sat. As for my coaching, I do not compare coaching Bantam AAA to the NHL. Kids are not getting paid to play hurt or sick, I don't care how big the game is. 3 weeks ago I had 3 very good players out with the flu. My 2 leading scorers and my top dman. I called up 3 from Bantam A and one scored 2 goals and the dman I used as a 6th guy and he did not lookout of place.
So Muller you are saying that Koivu sick the other night (lazy penalty costing first goal and losing a key draw) would have been better than playing a healthy Plekanecs more? Interesting.

If you are talking about the lost draw on the tying goal, the wingers should be rushing the points. Also the faceoff never happens in our end if Ribs gets his skinny ass off the ice during his extended shift.

OK OK. Barry I get it. Your fence sitting has ended. The thing I like about you is that you back up your anti-Koivu rhetoric with sound arguments. So I respect that.
I see that you base your dislike( it ain't indiffernce any more Barry), on hockey sense. A lot of it is pure speculation, but at least plausible.
On the other hand we have And-o who rolls out complete nonsense. I am sure purely to satisfy some sense of himself rather than anything to do with hockey. That's just what my gut tells me about And-o's posts.
Barry, I like your ability to back up your comments( I disagree on a few of them), but I get a keen sense of someone who understands the game. It all good brotha'...

Thanks brother. I do not think I sit on the fence and I am glad you see that. To me I am just not as black or white on Saks as you guys are. I like alot of things he brings to the table, I love what he has done for the game and the team, but I question certain aspects of his game and as a fan, now that he has a long term deal, I hope that Gainey emphasizes that and Saks gets back to where we all want him. Do not get me wrong..I love this guy. Just not unconditionally lol

Barry. Where to we expect him to be? I think he is having one of his better years this year all around.
Due to injuries etc, Koivu has never really had the chance to display number one center capabilities for an entire season. I am not saying he is not capable of it. Give him an actual second line center and we might see a different story.
But as it stands now, I think Koivu is playing "Up to snuff" so to speak. One of the best years he has had I figure. I recognize that I have opened up the doors for people to suggest that if this is one Koivu's better years, then is he worth the money?
I say yes. Being a integral part of a cup winning team involves a whole lot more than point production. AND, if Ganey lands a legit center I figure Koivu can be a large point producer. Or, conversly, if Gainey lands a legit center who assumes the number one spot...then we have one of the better second line center's in the game don't we? Win-Win I figure.
