Okay, let the rumours begin. The man with one hand on the stick Richard Zednik is a scratch for Thursday game vs Buffalo. Is he benched? Is he injured? Will he be traded? All speculation.

Mario, I wonder if he was injured last game? I remember him after a shift labouring at the bench holding his flank!
Although if he is traded, that isn't a bad thing! I actually hope he can turn it around though as I like his grit! He just hasn't played well between the ears in the new NHL and may not adapt especially with the one hand thing!

Didn't I read he had the flu?

Perhaps he plans to play, but not get dressed. (Ugly thought!) Either way, I don't expect him to contribute much. I'd love to know what his shots on goal figures are for this year vs. the last time around. Zeds' work ethic may be there in his mind, but I don't see him driving to the net or even getting into the slot very often to try to create or capitalize on scoring chances. The try-to-beat-the-defense-by-driving-around-the-net-with-one-hand-on-the-stick move seems to be the only one in his arsenal lately and it's not a very potent one. I hope he gets his scoring touch back, because when this guy is on, he's a wonder to behold.

Stats show that Zeds is third on the team in total shots with 101. This surprises me. I can't remember the last time he had a good shot on net or even a decent scoring chance. If he's getting that many shots, though, presumably his time will come. Go Zeds Go!

I heard that Zednik and Koivu had the flu, but Koivu's there. Not sure what's up...

You mean Barry, right?
Seriously, though, at this point, he may be someone who could actually get a decent return for us. I like to think he's just lost his groove and that he'll get it back because I've always liked him.
