The Pros and Cons of having a GM double as Coach!

Anyone else think that Gainey might better spend this week attending the GM’s meetings rather than play babysitter (especially since Carbo will be the coach soon anyway)???

And-o is absolutely thrilled that Gainey is witnessing firsthand what is happening in the dressing room and on the ice.  This, in my opinion, cannot be overstated…blown coverage, dreadful face-offs, poor effort, inconsistency, lack of hustle, no grit, selfish penalties, power cliques, etc.  I want Gainey to see it all before choosing a direction for this team!

If the CEO of your organization stood over your shoulder and watched every move you made…how do you think that you would perform/react???  Me too!

Pro -

There are far fewer “passengers” on the Habs who ride along for free!  Bonk stunk – Bonk sat!  Sunny stunk – Sunny sat!  Theo failed to elevate – Theo sat!  (…for those he has not yet held accountable, And-o suggests that the day of reckoning is fast approaching via other methods)

And-o, good post but you do realize that Gainey made his bed when he decided to pre-hire a coach for next season! That was a mistake but I do agree that he should be at these meetings! Him not taking the days off tells me that Carb isn't ready to coach a few games and that he isn't that interested in making a trade! I say this because trades will be initiated from these meetings! Again, we'll miss out!

Also, we had players stink through the whole season like Theo and when we all thought a few months ago he would shake things up with a trade, it didn't happen! He wasn't blind then to the situation because he wasn't behind the bench. He did respond by firing CJ!
