I like Francis Bouillon. I really do. He's feisty, he hits, he's a decent passer, and he plays his heart out every night. But when is he going to learn how to cover in front of his net? Granted, with a 5 on 3 advantage, it's likely that a team as good as The Swords is going to score on you eventually. But did the Cubist have to make it so easy for them on that OT goal?
He does it all the time -- and he's not alone. Wherever the puck goes, that's where Bouillon's attention goes and that's where his feet start taking him. It's 5 on 3, Cube! Your other two teammates are already on that side of the crease! If you head over there, too, there will be nobody around to cover the whole other side of the ice!
Sure enough, the puck flips over to Coughsomephlegmup and before Cube can get back to where he should be, the biscuit's in the net. Game over.
Does anyone know who is coaching the Habs defensemen now that we have all those Selke-winning forwards behind the bench? Whoever it is should talk to the boys about defensive zone coverage, about playing the man rather than the puck -- and about NOT DESERTING YOUR POST IN THE MIDDLE OF A BATTLE!
Cubie didn't lose this game for us all by himself, but he certainly cost us a chance to win it. It was a mental error, just like Koivu's stupid penalty was a mental error. Until we start playing smarter, we're going to lose more games than we should.
And I think the look of genuine horror he had shows that the guy cares as much as anyone about the team. Hope he's not thrown out with bathwater when we get rid of the babies...

Hey Barry. This post is not meant to be inflammatory but it will sound that way. But don't you think you might want to know the potential reason for his absence before roasting him for it?
You recently posted on here how we needed to be good fans and stop acting like leaf fans eh?
Gainey told him to stay away...he had an injury that required immediate attention...illness in the family...I don't know. And I figure you don't either.
