Basically the so called Koivu-lovers are simply supporting our best player on average game after game. What kind of fan yabbers on about is deficiencies when he is clearly our best player at the moment?

The whole argument about the fact that he should be a second line center is irrelevant. We don't have one, so for the moment Koivu is our number one. Support it or not. I for one support great hab players, rather than bicker over dumb points.

To the point, I agree Koivu would be a more suitable number two guy. But we never had a chance to see if he would actually be a number one guy because he never had any back-up support. So for those of you convinced he is not a number one guy...how do you know? If he had a second line center, the pressure is also off him, thus prolonging his career so to speak. Plouf made a great point in a previous post: No single player can carry an entire team.

It's simple for me. Koivu is a great player who leads by example on the ice. I support those kind of players no matter who they are. I'm a habs fan...

Why let it go? People can discuss anything they like on this board. I'd rather hear cheers for Sak then blasting Theo, etc, etc, etc....

I just feel that the topic has been debated to death and everyone has made their points 20,000 times. It does not matter how much we debate it. You have two sides of the fence on this topic and I am sitting on the fence lol...discuss away. I just feel it is getting out of hand and going nowehere.

Yup, like you said, BG will decide this one and then we can all discuss Sak after he is signed or signs somewhere else.


Anyone wanna discuss Bonk, Theo, Kovy, etc...?

Glad you asked!! lol..I am very very disappointed in Kovalev this year..do you know that Yannick Perreault gets paid 1/8th of what Kovalev is and has twice as many points? I was an advocate of keeping Sir Yannick because I felt that in the "New NHL" that puck possession would be so important..and it is. Let's face it, we do not have anyone who dominates on the draws this year and it hurts. And speaking of bargains..Huet makes 60,000 over the NHL minimum wage..no wonder he wants some Swiss Chocolate next year!

Well Ok I will stop praising the good performances and players. It's much more productive to bash players...Let's see Kovalev, Bonk, Theo, Ribby, where should I begin...
