For those who whatched the game on RDS, did you catch the comment that was made that Chicago was interested in Souray? I didn't catch it all so I don't know if the mentioned for who or even if I heard correctly.

Anyone catch that??

Didn't see or hear it (missed the first period though) but I personally don't like the idea much....he's just started it going again....maybe that's why?

Acquiring Souray, Zednik, Bulis were some of the only moves we really can brag about over the past decade or so, why would we want to move any of them unless we were getting a star in return?

Its possible that Chicago's interested. Doesn't mean BG will move him though.

It's amazing how much clout Souray still has amongst the bloggers on this site...
the guy had 1/2 a season of exceptional play in the OLD NHL. Speed has killed this guy and he's
been (Rich) Pyloned on several occasions - most recently by Bergeron on Thursday.
He is likely now our most overrated player so why not trade him?? He's far from untouchable...

I'd have agreed 2 weeks ago, but...

Thing is, some of last season's Souray is finally appearing. He still looks like pylon on some plays, but he's got 5 points in 5 games, which has to be good for something.

I was all for dealing Souray a few weeks ago, but the reality is, is that our blue line looks like swiss cheese at the best of times and Souray is the 2nd best guy we've got back there, which isn't saying much.  If you are going to deal him, you HAVE to get an upgrade on defense. We need a mobile/scoring defenseman (who could play with Souray to offset some of his slow pace) and a stalwart - Brendan Witt is still available.

I never wanted to be rid of Souray. I think he just needs more peer support. He can get the job done. He should challenge Rivet for 2nd on def scoring.

He's good, except he gets caught on key moments at times where he tries to go for the puck instead of the player. (except on spezza when the opposite should have been done lol)
