From the latest rumours the talks between Saks agent and BG have gone sour. If this is true, which it could be, expect Sak to move on in the coming weeks for a draft pick. From what I've seen over the last couple of games, Sak hasn't been himself, looks like the rebuilding is about to start, AGAIN!!!
The season is getting so close to being lost ... the Olympic break will be when things are hammered out between GMs.
But I hope Koivu stays and helps get this boat set straight. But, like I've said, I'm a Habs fan, so if we get decent return for Koivu, then who am I to argue. If they are getting a draft choice, forget it. But a highly touted prospect or a proven player, then that might just be what we need.

Too funny! Saku plays one good game, which is followed by two or three bad ones...and you just noticed this lately?
If Saku is just half the commodity you seem to think he is, than there must be loads of interested teams!!!
Saku could really help a team like Minnesota, Calgary…or perhaps even L.A.. Also, since there are numerous Eastern teams harboring upcoming UFA’s...perhaps flipping one unhappy guy for another is the solution.
The fact of the matter is that this team needs a major shake-up…and right now, Saku could provide the biggest returns at the cheapest cost (especially since you said yourself that it is unlikely he will resign).
And-o just wishes that Bob would either fish or cut-bait!
How is this a surprise? There's a reason he only got a one year to start with! Gainey didn't see Saks in the long range plans! Also Saks hasn't been playing hard for another contract!

Nil d heartily disagrees. Saku has had fewer bad games than any other Hab - bar none!

My only wish is that this team do whatever it takes to get out of this funk. I love Saku Koivu. Always have and always will. But as apparent as it became to me that my buddy CJ would be unable to get these guys going, it is as painfully obvious that Saks cannot seem to lead this team anymore? Is that HIS fault? Nope. Just like it was not Claude's fault. But the first major bomb (CJ's firing) did nothing so it is now time to shoot the cannon again. Personally, if I had my way..there would be very few on that team I would keep. The obvious lack of effort this year and non-chalant attitude has, in my opinion, been the biggest disgrace to the habs uniform in the team's history. Say what you want. Whatever your feelings are about Saks, you need to appreciate what he has given to this franchise over the years. I know I do. But it is time to move on. I think he will be revitalized elsewhere.
