 These guys missed the boat on a defensive system! They're coaching in the wrong era! Three great defensive players! So what! Our defense and offense suck! This team at this time needs someone who can coach all systems! PP, PK, offense and defense! An all around coach rather than a guy who just wants to block shots, chip the puck out or shoot it in without a forecheck!


 This game is about defensive zone break outs, speed, puck possession and most of all creativity!


 Remember the first couple games with Gainey! The guys kept it simple but they head maned the puck, skated hard and shot the puck! Sure they got a couple wins on adrenalin and fright! But they were always going forward! Making the other team turn and chase! Then the coaches start messing with their head about prehistoric defense first and they suck! Why? because you can't play that hold up, nutrual zone trap, clutch, shoot it in with one guy deep to chase the puck kind of game. It just doesn't work anymore!


 That is why our team is regressing! At the beginning of the season they were loose and skating forward! Even being offensively creative! Now they're back on their heels all game even against slow teams! All it does is run up the shot clock against us!


 Again, These three coaches together won't work! Way too one demensional!

I know one man cannot change a team but you can't deny the major impact losing Markov has created on this team?
 
Do you think with Markov back this system will be effective?

If you noticed the Habs have been playing a good system in the first period. As soon as the momemtum changes (a goal is scored my the opposing team) THE PLAYERS AND NOT THE COACHES TOTALLY DISREGARD ANY "SYSTEM". You can impose the greatest system on earth...you take the greatest hockey technician but if THE PLAYERS have such a FRAGILE CONFIDENCE, WHAT GOOD IS A SYSTEM. I can't swallow that Habs fans are still blaming coaching (Julien wasn't good enough, Gainey/Carbo/Jarvis isn't good enough) Let's stop blaming the coaches and the systems and BLAME THE HEARTLESS PLAYERS.


The beginning of the season, we won games because for 3 periods the system was followed. Now it's followed for a period or until the team scores or gets momentum. They simply give up hope.

My problem with the coaching is why aren't we playing a high pressure penalty kill system?  Force their guys with the puck.  We play a passive box system and we get killed on it all the time. Saw it last night and against Carolina (not counting 5 on 3's). Watch other teams play a high pressure system on the Habs and we don't know what to do.  If this team is so fast, at least utilize your speed.

That was driving me nuts all game last night.  Why is it that every team in the NHL can pressure the Canadiens on their penalty kill, but the Habs only try to cut off the passing/shooting lanes?  With the supposed talent that Montreal puts out on the power play, they are getting completely shut down.

UHMMMMM..LET ME SEE..3 former Selke winners for coaches...Offense? What offense?
