JUST finished watching habs/bruins game, and the true habs-killer is the habs players themselves. They were lazy,no teamwork, gave the puck up in their own zone and when the game was over, there was no emotion by the players! I BET THEY DIDN'T EVEN HAVE TO GET A SHOWER AFTER THE GAME BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T EVEN WORK UP A SWEAT!
It strikes me as more than ironic that a team that shows no emotion has a coach/GM who shows no emotion. Can there be a connection there?
Two marginal penalties are called on his team in the space of 30 seconds, giving the Bs a 5 on 3, and not a peep from Gainey or anyone else on the bench. No surprise then that the refs felt no chagrin in calling yet another marginal Habs penalty seconds after the first two had expired (and provided two quick goals for the Bruins).
I'm not into hot-headed head coaches, but sometimes you gotta put one in the bank so that your team gets the next call. We all know how this works -- and it does work.
Gainey is a statue and his players are not much more mobile than he is. Until he shows a little fire, why should they? Maybe he's hoping to win GM of the year for style points, but he's not getting any votes in this house.

We have met the enemy and they are us................
