Hamilton Bulldogs goaltender Yann Danis and Manitoba Moose goaltender Wade Flaherty were named co-winners of the Rbk Hockey Most Valuable Player award at the 2006 Rbk Hockey AHL All-Star Classic, which was played on Wednesday night at the MTS Centre in Manitoba.
Both netminders played for the Canadian AHL All-Star team, which defeated the Planet USA AHL All-Stars by a score of 9-4. Danis and Flaherty each stopped 12 of the 13 shots they faced. Flaherty played the first period, while Danis was in goal for the second period.
Hamilton Bulldogs graduate and Montreal Canadiens forward Tomas Plekanec was named Most Valuable Player of the 2005 Pepsi AHL All-Star Classic, in which the Planet USA AHL All-Stars defeated the Canadian AHL All-Stars 5-4 in a shootout. Plekanec had a goal in regulation and also scored in the shootout for the Planet USA AHL All-Stars.
It sure would be nice to see Danis up in Montreal. I don't think sending Theodore down to Hamilton would work, but I wouldn't mind trying out 3 goalies like Buffalo's been doing for awhile.

And as a result Mika Noranen is asked for a trade.

Yes, but isn't a trade what we want? It doesn't look like we're going to find one, but so what if Theodore asks for one! I don't think the management cares too much if he wants out.

When someone wants a trade a team becomes desprate to move them for something, and most of the time they get nothing in return like the Roy deal. If Roy had not publicly asked for a trade he would be worth more because in the end we could have kept him if we didn't get what we wanted.
You make a very valid point. But my rebuttle at this point is to ask what exactly you think Theodore would get us in return? He isn't exactly the stellar goaltender he once was. We can always keep him and hope he rebounds, which is what I think will happen. I just don't think that if he wants a trade it will make much difference.
And also, do you see Mikka Noronen going anywhere so fast? So it really doesn't make a difference. The GM will only move somebody if it will IMPROVE OUR TEAM.
