How is it that Sheldon Souray has been flying under everybody's radar these last few games?  This is the worst hockey I have ever seen him play.  He has been a pylon for the opposition's forwards.  He has taken some fairly stupid and lazy penalties (I'm not including the delay of game against the Leafs).  His assist against Carolina was a result of him taking forever to shoot (which someone else on the board has already pointed out), and the only option he had left was to go to the corner, turn towards the net and shoot at the net (shoot at the net, what a novel idea, but I digress).  I know that he is under personal stress.  Well, we hear that he is, for all we know he is happy to see his wife go.

heety, I've been all over Souray this year.  He gets a get out of jail card because he had one great half a season 2 years ago.  He makes so many errors out there, it's disgusting.  The fact that this guy is probably our 2nd or 3rd defenseman says a lot about the quality of our blueline.

For me, back up to Vancouver and Normie, WCHF, Mrs. Hab and I witnessing yet ANOTHER fiasco.  I was all over Shelly for handing the puck to Bertuzzi on a silver platter (with a smile, I am sure).  He's not flown under my radar either.  The only good thing about him was his hair during the warmup.  Got some good pics, that's about the only good thing I will say about Souray at this point.

Habgirl, you've been rough on the boys lately - the single life must have given you an edge!  You used to be so sweet.  Maybe it's Normie's curmudgeonness rubbing off...............

Hey Nil, I am still sweet!  I just can't defend this team any more.  Even Mrs. Hab has to be stewing too....

Interesting stat from last night's game.  Habs had 34 shots on goal and 17 of those shots were by 3 players: Ryder(6), Souray(6) and Zednik(5).  That leaves the other 17 shots spread over the remaining players!!!  Souray obviously was shooting on net but I guess his other D duties were suspect.

I've missed most of the last dozen or so games (perhaps this is why I'm not as down on the team as those who have had to watch the latest slide in all its glory), even on the radio, so I wasn't aware that Souray was totally back to his old tricks. I thought he had a decent 2nd quarter to the season (though nothing like two years ago), but he was almost worse than Ribeiro in the first quarter. And many of us let him have it then, believe me.

(Ribeiro's since moved up a tiny notch in my books.)
