OK..I am so sick of this guy..he is f-ing PATHETIC. Here we are playing a decent game and he is losing it for us....Bob get him out of there. I dont care about the contract..he is brutal. Gainey is willing to sell the whole season down the tubes just to play Theo and justify the fat contract he gave him.. At least CJ had it right Bob. Bench Theo and play Huet..5-2 now..game shot..way to go BOBBBYYYYYYYY you are SOME COACH!!!! Pull him after 5 goals..bit late Bob.. coach of the year candidate you are. Shame that a good effort was totally wasted because of Theo..again

What is even more puzzling is his lack of intensity or concentration?? How amny times in one year can a 6 million dollar goalie get pulled from a game?? He has been pulled from 5 or 6 games already. They can't trade him fast enough....frankly, right now I don't care what we get for him......I just don't want him in the net. Don't forget that brutal 3rd goal in TO on Saturday...his teammates bailed him out of that one.
WHY DOESN'T BOB GAINEY CALL A FRICKIN' TIME OUT AND BLAST HIS PLAYERS BEFORE THE GAME GETS OUT OF REACH??? Theo's save percentage has be the lowest of all starting goalies in the league. What also puzzles me is how he doesn't move on so many of the goals?????????????? Barry33...you're right, he does suck.........PERIOD!
I'd make Theo the richest man in Hamilton. 2 or 3 nights of getting punched out in the Brown Derby bar by jealous boyfriends should convince him that Montreal is the sweetest place on earth.
Then when he returns and starts stopping pucks again... don't be fooled... trade his ass as soon as he has a hot 3 games in a row.
Gainey has no emotion. Come on Bob yell at the refs once in a while yell at someone. Even when they beat To he did not even smile. He needs to go along with the rest of the coaching staff Come on Gilette make the move

But davidb, wouldn't you agree that the team has actually played reasonably well so far? Against a hot Carolina team too? It's the goaltender that let them down.

His head is just elsewhere. I am not sure if it is down at Chez Paris, the local crack house or where..but it is not on the ice. Let's be honest. Even the Toronto game he was lucky and was certainly not outstanding. The worst thing is he is now virtually untradeable. Even if he did not have a 4.5 million contract who the heck would want him?!??? I keep hearing the Canucks or Oilers. Can someone tell me where theo would be any better at what they now have for half the price? Give me a break. He is here for the duration folks. We best suck it up.

Thing is, I think they're doing all right tonight.
No question Theo is a primary culprit of tonight's predicament (first Carolina goal was just brutal).
However, Koivu played an abysmal 1st period .... stupid giveaway leads to the second goal, and then on Carolina's PP at the end of the 1st Koivu fails to block the shot - notice on the replay how he just stood there, stick on one hand, and wouldn't move between the shooter and Theo? So Koivu is should shoulder a lot of the blame as well for tonights unperformance

Barry, I don't need to add to your post! Gainey needs to suck it up and sit Theo as a back up! Go with Huet and work on the team to get them going!
Again, no scoring from our first line again! They bring it against the beat up and injured Laffs! Saks celebrates like he won the Cup! Need I say more! Pathetic!

AB. First off, do you play hockey? With goaltending like that it's hard to generate any momentum. A line of Mario, Gretzky and Messier would have a hard time swinging the momentum with that kind of goaltending. For you to point a finger at the top line in this game only highlights your one sided thought process. I'm not that suprised however. It's typical one track thinking.
With 5 goals on 10 shots Theo is the only one to blame. 5 goals on 10 shots = $6 million
If I'm not mistaken, if you remove the Toronto game, Theo has allowed 15 goals on 38 shots in the three games he's been yanked. Not good by any measure............

You can't send Theo down because he will be claimed off waivers, guaranteed. But can you bring Danis up and not dress Theo? Now that would be a move. They have to pay Theo wether he wins, loses or sits, it's a suck cost. So, let's win, pay him and see if he gets that desire to start respecting the CH.

But my point was send him down because no team would claim him due to his big salary. Maybe I misunderstand the rules, but wouldn't a team claiming him on waivers have to pick up his salary? No team would have cap room for him.
Please tell me if I'm misunderstanding the rules.

Fig. I don't think it's about respect. I think he has just lost all confidence. I will admit, Theo is a typical home boy with an ego, but I think he wants to were the CH. Montreal is not a great place to "play through" that kind of brutal play. The spot light is too hot. I fear Montreal will never see a great Theo again. But he may return to form on another team. And I'm OK with that. I really feel bad for him.

The thing is Muller, We're talking about how bad Theo is and John brings up Saks like he deserves to be saved from the team's poor play!
That's why I brought it up!
We're actually in this one until Saks give-a-way!
But that aside, this game is mostly about Theo being terrible! He sucked!

Nil, that's right! But if he is claimed on re-entery than Habs eat half his wage! That's the risk.

He does. So do CJ, etc, etc, etc... Thank goodness for CJ he was the lucky one in the Theo mess.

BG needs to figure out what's best for the team, pay Theo to sit or take the hit, pay half and rebuild with new blood. If he can't trade him, than what's next, nothing else is working.
