Heard that when he comes back from injury that Blues will send him to farm club for conditioning and also in hopes that he is taken off waivers either going or coming back which of course then he could be had for half price!

Is he worth a look if no one claims him the first time?

He had a fall out with the Blues because he came to camp way too over weight so a new team may get him going! Although he's paid big money! I think 7.6 per season!

I would sure chance it for half that wage! He has always been a power forward except this season after the lockout ( too much pizza ) so I think he will come around to being a force again!

I understand your interest in a power forward like Tkachuk. We ask ourselves if the Habs will ever have a large forward with stones who can put it in the net. However, I have hope for the Habs future and when I hear Tkachuk's name I automatically think of two things. Damaged goods and he's short term. They thought they were kind of getting that in Bonk...I said kind of. I never panned out.

I believe our future is in our scouting. I know that you are thinking "ok but we need reinforcement now" but I doubt that he's the answer. Did you hear Downey on the radio today?

He could not stop saying how much it is an honour to play for a prestigious team like the Habs. He went on to mention that he would do anything for the team...fight twice a game, ram opposing players into the boards on every shift...whatever it takes.

When was the last time we heard that from a Hab. Yes yes yes he's just a fighter with very limited talent but can you imagine the impact it would have coming out of the mouth of a Ryder or a Zednik?

 Good point!

I like Downey's determination but is it just talk? How many players get here and say how over whelmed they are to be here (Kovy) then proceed to not do their talking on the ice! Downey has yet to drop his gloves and if you read a previous post of mine, he may like many think he's an elete scoring winger in no time! ( Brashaer, Odjick, etc.) Something about this team that the so called tough guys think they're Lafluer or Shut and the smaller players play tougher!(Begin and Boullion)

Just a thought! Pobably too early to criticize Downey and Ivanans!

Like you mentioned before though, I'm dreaming power forward with skill and becoming desperate for mentioning Tkachuk! Truth is that they're hard to come by! Bertozzi would be awesome also!
