MONTREAL – Canadiens GM Bob Gainey announced Monday that forward Alexander Perezhogin has been recalled from the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League.
Perezhogin, 22, played in 11 games with the Bulldogs in 2005-06 after he was assigned to Hamilton on Jan. 2. The Kazakhstan native collected two assists and eight penalty minutes during his stint with the Bulldogs.
The right-winger played in 36 games with the Canadiens this season, scoring six goals and adding six assists. Perezhogin earned a plus/minus rating of plus-1 and collected 24 penalty minutes. He scored his first NHL goal in his first game ever, on Oct. 6 in New York, against the Rangers.
Perezhogin was the Canadiens’ second choice, 25th overall, in the first round of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
