Yes, I actually liked the way the habs played that period. Ribiero was taking hits and giving them. I liked that pass to Begin, very smooth. It's too bad Theo is having such a hard time. That first goal was horrific I think.

It kinda feels like we could put in a midget AAA goalie in there and do about as well. I mean I truly feel that way. We gotta hope Theo gets going at some point.

If the habs can make the playoffs...you never know. Theo could return to form, Souray could return to form, Ribiero could ummmm do something, Kovalev could be that playoff performer again, Zednik could return to form...you never know...

I agree with Johab also, if we don't match speed with speed, we're toast! We need to shut down the neutral ice to slow them up. Our D also has to respect their speed and not get caught flat footed (Souray are you listening)!
Remember they will be pumped with the addition of Weight!
If Theo plays, I have a bad feeling about this one. I think we'll lose big time! Partly because Theo will let in a couple soft goals and we won't have the guns to match theirs! Just a feeling!

I guess you called it here.....aaargghhh...what a game. Habs seem to be playing ok too.

We are outshooting them 20-16. Theo blew this game, 3 brutal goals that don't go in on pee-wee goalies. Don't know what else to say. I can't take this anymore. It would be easier if BG decided to unload everyone and rebuild, we wouldn't expect anything at least.

Because he is the Captain, John and needs to lead this team as discouraging as it may be at times.

Barry, I see no one leading this team now. Someone has to step up and take charge.

Two big mistakes from Koivu, for sure.

But nonetheless, the big story remains Theodore. I hate to single out one player, but I'm really starting to believe that story someone posted that the deep problem with this team is that they don't trust him anymore. Goaltending has been key to the two cup wins we've had since 79, and I'm afraid we don't have it. Huet looks promising, but he's still green. Ouch.

Ah geez Barry. Come on now. I think Wright got it right on a previous post. When your Goaltending flat out sucks, it brings the whole team down. I actually like how the habs are playing in this game. But Theo is just really bad. I mean this guy is as far down as you can get. And it's draggin the whole team down. I actually feel bad for the guy. It's painful to watch.

Koivu has one off period and suddenly it's his fault for not "leading " the team. After that Theo performance? Holy smokes Barry, that is kinda way off course for someone with your hockey knowledge I think.

Out of curiosity, I note you've been bashing Koivu pretty hard these past few days - - - - --  and your handle is "Saku11" !!!!  Shouldn't you be calling yourself something else?

It's worth noting that Saku11's very first post was a rant against Koivu. I'm not entirely convinced that he's not a "friend" of AB Habman or And-o.

Muller read my post on Theo below. I believe I pointed out my feelings on Theo. In no way did I say Koivu was dragging the whole team down??? I said "He went from having his best game all year to his worst period all year and I hope he gets it together". That was a fact that I am sure he would admit. My point above was to John who indicated that "Why should Koivu even bother trying?". My answer is because he is the captain and has to lead the team through bad and good. If HE stops trying because we are getting sucky goaltending what does that tell the rest of the team? I coach Bantam AAA. And I can tell you if ANYONE quits even if we are down 10-0 they sit.

No point Barry. If you know that every shot against is pretty much going in. Whether you are captain or whether you are Cote, you pretty much have the life sucked out of you after being part of this debacle.

There is nothing to lead after those 3 go in.

How can you think and play positive when you have a lack of confidence?  It seems that the forwards are so worried about allowing to many goals (Theo) that they are really afraid to play.  Thus the lack of shots.  I bet you that once Theo was pulled, that's when they got the bulk of the 20 shots.

All I have to say is Hair today, Richards tomorrow...and by hair I mean Theo because, like Ferry Kraser, his hair has become his most valuable asset.  If Theo turns it around and really makes a difference, we'd all be happy, but it isn't likely to be in Montreal.

And even at that, he's always wearing a baseball hat, so we don't even get to see his valuable asset.  And the way he's playing tonight, he's certainly not making an asset of himself...............

Total embarrasment tonight.  Even the 3rd period ..... guys quitting and giving up and hanging Huet out to dry.

Gainey presiding over a world of trouble.  If he somehow manages to keep his job after this last few weeks I think there's a possibility he could enter politics.

I can't believe how one-sided the refereeing has been tonight.  They have called some very questionable penalties against the Habs and have missed a few against Carolina.  Score now 7-2.  This team is down and out.  They played a very good game but as usual Theo let them down and could not fight back against the top team in the league.  I feel Theo is finished as he has been given every chance to be the top goalie.  Gainey must go with Huet but who will be backup.

No clique dude. This team stinks this year because of bad goaltending. Blame it on anything you want and then go check out the goaltending stats around the league and come back here again for an update.

one off period??? What season are you watching???? He's been off the entire year. Maybe a splurge here and a month later another one, be a little realistic

If Sak is inconsistent, please name a player on the team who is more consistent.

And-o is that you? In any case  "Saku11"...Your comments are tiresome and not really worthy of a reply. As JohnM said, check Theo stats, watch our "second line" center, and then see who leads this team in points and is a plus player...then report back with someting other than pure dribble...

Well, I don't know about any click, or clique for that matter.  I certainly can't say the boys played gret last night.  I didn't watch the game, but I've seen the stats.  Seems like Theosore bailed on the team.  As for your namesake, he leads the team in scoring, plus/minus.................oh what's the use, we've been over this again and again.

Perhaps, but he is underperforming far less than every other player, so why pick on him?
