3 things i noticed tonight

1) RIBIERO ACTUALLY HIT SOMEONE!!!!! I was amazed and literally started cheering in the living room....until my mom rudely told me to quiet down from the kitchen... 2) Souray is a REALLY quiet player...they had the mic on him tonight...and the 2 things he said were... GO GO...thats it...lastly this game never should have gone into overtime. There was a highstick along the boards with just over 5 min left on bulis...no call...and on the play that scored the tying goal, higgins was on his way to get the puck...never actually touched it and the toronto player took out his legs on the way to the board...got it out and dork-wad puts it in the net with a slap shot...not call when there should have been an interference call...higgins never had possession of the puck. Also...Theo let the shot by....guess you could call that a 3rd reason. Although he did play much better tonight than of late... Carolina on tuesday!

Yup, a bunch of non-calls against the Leafs. Higgs was interfered with, Ryder was hooked on his partial breakaway, Bulis high-sticked, etc.... Refs almost did it to us again tonight.

sad thing is i normally like games that bill macleary refs...tonight...not so good....worse ref- Kerry Fraser and then that long funny name...cant remember it at the moment...

Perhaps you're thinking of Don Vanmasenhoven.


I think McCreary is one of the worst refs in the NHL. Tonight's game was terrible from a referee standpoint ... forget the questionnable calls (like on Bulis at the end of the second period, for gawd's sake the leaf player fell down on his own) ... but how could Bill miss calling the leafs for tripping Higgins ON THE GAME TYING GOAL.


I commented previously on how bad McCreary is ... remember the 4-1 Habs win over the Sens, McCreary missed that there were 6 habs on the ice for the 1st goal.


McCreary must have some compromising photos of the head of NHL refereeing ... to still have his job

You are one of the only ones, he's picked all the time to do the clutch games, and the NHLPA, along with GMs has expressed their pleasentries about him. He's one of the top guys in my book, along with alot of other hockey personel. People who don't know much about the referee world tend to hate the good refs cause they have balls to call the right calls. (not saying you don't know anything, its just fact.)

My favorite all time Ref was Paul Stewart. In my books the former tough guy let the players play but when need be, he took control. Stewie could never ref under the new rules though because he hated calling penalties lol. Came back from cancer. Truly a nice guy. I remember having a beer with him and CJ when CJ was playing in Fredericton and Stewie was reffing AHL.

This team is an enigma. Who will show up and when? Still a win is a win and it's so nice it came at the Laffs expense. Enjoy it all.

Like Don van Massenhoeven, as nietche pointed out.


The worst ref in NHL history, in my opinion is Don Koh-arse-ski.  (And he's from Dartmouth, NS.)  Mr. "even it all up all the time".

Theo did play better...he was square with the shooter most of the night. Do you think they should come back with Theo vs the Canes?
