Hey back at ya Habgirl, no i'm not to familar with the area your in know, my father was in the military thats why I lived in Belmont Park. Is it still there? We used to sneak into the military academy, that was next door. I believe it was call Royal Downs!
Yes, you were referring to Royal Roads Ray. It is still there, but is no longer strictly a military college. And for those of you not familiar with it, you'll have seen the campus in the X-Men movies. My lovely daughter actually received Hugh Jackman's autograph and a role as an extra there. During the filming of these movies, nobody in Belmont Park got any sleep as they were flying in helicopters every night at 3 a.m.....aah, the price of fame!
And, I don't know why, but I found myself jogging through there beside Brisebois once! I almost fell over my running shoes...he thought it was pretty funny though.
Thats for clearing that up guys ( Royal Roads) We used to run in the woods and try the obstacle course there. I remember a few other things but nothing real important. The two convenience stores and my PMQ was right near a grey brick house or town hall kinda thing. I remember going to John Stubbs school, got voted Jr. Fire Fighter for most popular, recall playing ball hockey behind the school in the outdoor lacrosse box. Thought that was cool playing there. Need more of those things around Barrie, instead of kids hanging out at the Macks's Milk. Also remember going to alot of towns for Hockey Cowichan, Sooke, Nanaimo, Oak Bay and others. Would love to go back now that i'm older and be able to appreciate it more. Being so close to the water was really fun. Oh remembered one other thing, playing war at Museum outside of Belmont Park, walking distance, man what was it called, had a castle and everything. If you think of anything else please share it with me! Thanks Ray
